Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

He thinks to be a celebrity and if I ask an autograph for you he will surely start to act like "OMG I'm so awesome ppl can't resist me" soooooooooooooo I will make him sign some fake documents or something and then I will send you the paper with his sign, is that ok? =P

wackyanne: Don't ask Jack Keane for his autograph, or we might all have to suffer a curtain call...
Too late.......

New meme here.... Internets get to work!
Speaking of Aquanox, I kinda wish Archimedean Dynasty is on GOG waters.

shadowknight2814: Since the movie is really about Kevin Flynn, shouldn't it be called "Flynn"?
That occurred to me once, too. I guess "Flynn" doesn't sound as tech-y.

Deva: If you still had it, you could put "Death in Harding House" here on GOG! ;)

The Extended BASIC cartridge gave you hardware sprites and lots of other goodies. I wrote a bunch of games as well, in between playing Parsec, the coolest game for the TI... Then I learned C in 1983, and started getting a bit more serious... :)

SpiderFighter: I envy you. All my tapes are long gone. Brings a tear to my eye. I wish I would have stuck with programming. I switched over to TurboPASCAL to create door games for BBSs, but once the Internet came around in '95 I switched to html and Javascript, then kinda lost touch with the times. Now my creations are mostly UGC for other games.
You know, I didn't get too deep into programming, but I wish I'd kept up with it more. I did a heck of a lot of HTML and web stuff in the 90's, but gave up around the time web logs came around.
What I regret giving up in my life is the really geeky stuff. Which is why I've spent most of the last year getting back into tabletop games, esp. D&D. But my husband's loaded up Diablo onto my other Mac, and I picked up Duke Nukem 3D on day 1 of the sale, and will be snapping up Quest for Glory the next chance I get... so the old school computer gamer in me is travelling back in time too. Now I've just got to find a TI99 emulator, or risk my wrists on the real one ;)

HunterZ: GOG should reduce the price of the games if they stay up for too long. RCR is looking to be another Don't Starve.
Come off it - the prices are already super low. It's just that we're sitting here waiting for specific stuff, so we want everything to go through in 15 minutes or less.

GOG is trying to make money for itself and the developers/publishers here, not have an "everything must go" clearance sale at cost price. (I realise "cost price" makes little sense for digital goods, but you get my point.)

Things are moving so fast, especially these days, it's easy for anyone to lose touch with the times. I've been a bit of a hoarder when it comes to my computers though... the only one that I sold was an Apple IIe.... because I needed the money to buy an Amiga 1000. I pre-ordered one in 1985, and it's still working and is sitting on a desk just a couple computers away from me. Unfortunately though, the 40MB hard drive I bought for it died long ago... it's incredible how much a 40 MB hard drive cost in those days... $980! Now you can get a terabyte for under $100. :-/

Cognition will probably stall a while, so you should see it here when it comes.
I already bought it on Steam, so I'll wait for a deeper discount.
