Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

CorranHorn: They really did catch what I liked about the first movie, the second one was ok but not on par with the first one,
avatar
ALH: Yeah Tron 2.0 was a worthy adaptation.I also enjoyed the film Tron Legacy(not as memorable as the original but still worthwhile) and also played the PS3 game to that film. Also pretty decent.Tron is just a very cool idea and platform.
I didn't hate the sequel, but I didn't really like it either. At times it devolved into conventional action schlock (ditching the lightcycles for regular vehicles, convention explosives, fast aerial vehicles), and it lacked the subtle of Tron. Tron did have a theme on religious persecution, which was an analog to Jewish persecution. It wasn't subtle, but it didn't rub it in your face either. The sequel kept bashing you over the head with it's theme of perfection. It also lacked the grace and beauty of the visuals of the original. Again, it wasn't bad, it just didn't have the same ambition as the original.
Keane:

Extremely offensive insult describing an annyoing person who refuses to go away.

CorranHorn: Anyone played Tron 2.0 by Monolith ?
avatar
Lotus69: I have. I think it was made with Unreal 2 or something along those lines. I remember I enjoyed it though I think it had some control issues ( I think there was too much platforming). Overall it was worth the 5-10$ I paid for it.

Pretty sure it was made with their own engine (Litech) and I do remember them combining platforming with some sort of puzzle. This is a game I would like to see on GoG, anyone that liked the first movie and likes playing game should play it=).
Uh-oh, another random thought involving Keane and Chuck Norris comparisons. I should probably think about sleeping soon...
avatar
Shendue: Yeah, that scale seems somewhat less arbitrary then mine. Still think that the Keaning was over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND Keans, tho.
avatar
Chevette: The Keaning seems to be expanding by some strange dilation of time and space caused, no doubt, by itself.... it was actually about 4.5 hours.
But that is the true nature of the Kean. Time becomes inherently irrelevant within itself. It could of been any frame of time and you wouldn't truly know, if you were there. It could of been minutes, seconds, days. hours! Most likely hours, probably hours... it was hours.
avatar
Faeja_Vu: Random thought... What do you suppose it'd take to make a Keanception?
avatar
tobias683: Not possible. It would require ALL the internets working cooperatively at once.
Pfft. Everyone knows there's only one Internet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDbyYGrswtg

groze: Also, it's not GOG's fault if people kept complaining in the forums that they didn't get Don't Starve. Now there should be no more complains about it, it has been on for about three hours, [...]
Okay, now I really don't feel bad buying two copies. Don't Starve was the only instabuy game in this sale for me. I got home and decided to check for the hell of it.

It's funny now, the way the bar does a fast countdown when the page loads (what, 1200 down to 14) and I'm sitting there thinking, "Okay, it's selling that quickly and I've got enough of a backlog so maybe I'll just wait for another sale."
After a little Googling it appears there already was a Keane movie, so a new movie would need to be a sequel, a "Keane 2" if you will. Here's the plot synopsis from the 1st film:

"A man in his early 30s (Keane) struggles with the supposed loss of his daughter from port authority bus terminal in New York, while fighting serious battles with schizophrenia. We can never be sure if the loss is real or imaginary; or whether his overt interest in helping young girls is innocent and of a fatherly nature, or is of a darker, scarier motive."
Shadowman still up? You have got to be Keaning me!!
avatar
RandomJC: So...can you get me his Autograph, or is he dead? Cause if he's dead, I'll just take a broken off limb, or a finger or something. Whatever will break off easiest.
avatar
Khaleesia87: Nah he is still alive....it's hard to get rid of him just like those games in the promo.

He is like 500years old atm, but looks like he got some kind of eternal life potion...

He thinks to be a celebrity and if I ask an autograph for you he will surely start to act like "OMG I'm so awesome ppl can't resist me" soooooooooooooo I will make him sign some fake documents or something and then I will send you the paper with his sign, is that ok? =P
Don't ask Jack Keane for his autograph, or we might all have to suffer a curtain call...

I hear ya.But on the other hand Tron Legacy is a very expensive film and compared to some of the other "Summer Blockbusters" it comes across as pretty smart and not too mainstream.I think they tried to find a middle ground.I do like that they brough Bridges back and did make somewhat of a sequel and not flatout remake.

Now it seems even creepier to have Busty 1 and Busty 2 on the cover of the game....
I think the promo is losing steam after so many rounds...

Deva: Wasn't Shadow Man on the Dreamcast? I seem to recall playing it on that.... but too many games over the decades is clouding my memory...
avatar
Bovrillor: It was on the N64 (with hi-res support if you had the 'expansion pak') and there was also a technically deficient PS1 port.

The game had some nice plot themes, but suffers from atrocious level design and the worst sound effect ever to appear in a video game. Since this sound is Shadowman's only gun, you'll hear it every 3 seconds and want to kill yourself.

I'm not kidding. I had to play the entire game with the sound off... and the only reason I beat it was because I'd foolishly paid £30 for it based on a review in N64 Magazine and felt obliged to finish it.
It was on the Dreamcast too. I still have my copy somewhere....... Great game BTW too.
