Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

ShadowWulfe: So Shadow Man was after Don't Starve right? I got kind of caught up in my game of Anvil of Dawn and forgot to look.
Yep.
What would you people want next?
Maybe gog will hear us!

I want Planescape torment and nwn diamond

Deva: That is part of the problem for some, I think... the bundles really spoil people. The current Humble Bundle gives you a lot of top games for less than $5. (If you only pay the minimum....) Although they're only for Steam.... but still.

Carl13: So if you pay the $4.73 (as it says on the site), you actually get those 4 games? (LOTR War in the North, Batman Arkham Asylum, F3ar and Fear 2) I can see why people get spoiled!
To be corrected, you pay more than $1 to get those 4 games (LOTR War in the North, Batman Arkham Asylum, F3ar and Fear 2). Only if you want all games then you have to pay more than $4.74.

CorranHorn: Star Wars for me will always be the first three movies and it that order, the new ones just felt out of place. I do like the books, The X-Wing series by Stackpole and Allston are great but few can compete with the man who started it all, Timothy Zahn. Would have loved to see movies based on his first trilogy=).
avatar
wackyanne: As for me, I wish they'd made more movies out of the original novels... Like Splinter of the Mind's Eye (another kiss between Luke and Leia! before even good ole' George knew they were siblings), but more importantly, the AWESOME Han Solo and Lando Calrissian trilogies. I stupidly lent out my copies to a friend/coworker, and never got them back.

I'm not sure anyone should be allowed to revisit a story twenty years later. I've yet to see an instance where it came out better.
I guess you have read I Jedi then=)?
Yes I agree, so many good books that I would have loved to see a movie adoption off. Speaking of George Lucas, Indiana Jones 4 was a major disappointment for me. He should have based the movie on Fate Of Atlantis instead, such an awesome game=).

Chaser98: I almost forgot to ask, were/are the Gothic games part of this sale? One of the first games I bought here was Gothic 3, which is the first, and so far only, Gothic game I've played (unless Risen counts) and I'm wanting to go ahead and try the first two Gothics.
Nope. I wouldn't mind Gothic 2.

stevenmsanders: Hoping for Jade Empire. Only saw it that one time though. Did I miss it running more than once?
Given that we're in the third round, you've missed it at least twice. There's a list a few pages back with what's been finished and what hasn't.

Deva: You also get the next row of 8 games and DLC add-ons as well... so 12 in all...
That's a hell of a deal!

Yes. It was up twice, and once for free.

SpiderFighter: CURSE YOU!!!!!!!

That was pretty shellfish of you.

Devoidless: Shellfish? Hardly, I thought it was rather kingly of me to spare you from the cagey episode.
The crazy thing is that you knew which episode I was on.

;)

jpwiseguy: I can't help noticing that Shadow Man is starting to become somewhat Keanelike in it's behavior.
Oh come on. It has already sold more copies. And if you stop at the counter and wait for a moment, it moves after umphteen seconds, sometimes by few units. Even Don't Starve was at moments more keaning.
avatar
shadowknight2814: Trapped in a bus station..,. Are we talking stuck due to bad weather, or stuck due to zombie apocalypse? If the first, off-line mode will probably take care of you. If the second, you have bigger problems, due to the steam servers being shut down after Valve gets eaten by zombies.
avatar
RandomJC: See, I was thinking a little of column A, a lot of column B, with a dash of column C. (You do not want to know what column C is.)
C is having a grim, grotesque smelly horror moaning at you and wrapping their arms around you while you scream in fear. Unfortunately, due to the zombies eating the police, it leaves you at the mercy of the standard panhandlers who still want a quarter from you. Still better than being eaten by a zombie. Actually, no.
avatar
Khaleesia87: If I had to wait Don't Starve and the others "Jack Keane sequels" to sold out before even sleeping or eating, I would have starved to death and became the Shadow Man in the main page right now.
avatar
RandomJC: So you aren't the Shadow Man? I was going to ask for your autograph!
Nope. But I am Jack Keane's grand granddaughter-in-law. Within this promo he got enough time to have kids, see his kids growing, get a grandchild, see his grandchild growing and having a child who grow up and got married to me.

Frostyfirefly: I was there, it was horrible!!
avatar
stevieknix: I was there too, but by 'there' I mean 'asleep beside my computer'.
Ah, I fell asleep last night, with the Witcher 2 in my cart. I would still have been fine, if my computer hadn't run out of memory. I've got to stop having only a gig free on my laptop...

But for the Keaning, I was mostly awake, wondering why the hell I was...

Shendue: Nope. You just have to pay 1$ get those. If you pay 4.74 you also get Scribblenauts, Batman: Arkham City GOTY, FEAR, Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, Guardians of Middle Earth + DLC and extra DLC for LOTR Online, Gotham City Impostors and Arkham Origins.
Yes, that's true, just $1 for the top 4! Unbelievable. But so far it's earned over $4 million, so they're doing pretty well.
