Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

To all the people complaining about the Don't Starve drought and comparing it to the Keanegate: yes, it's taking a whole goddamn time, but it's almost over, and keep in mind these were 1200 copies, while Jack Keane 2 held itself for nearly FIVE HOURS with "just" 100.

Also, it's not GOG's fault if people kept complaining in the forums that they didn't get Don't Starve. Now there should be no more complains about it, it has been on for about three hours, everyone that craved Don't Starve had more than enough time to grab a copy (though as soon as we move on to another game one or two people will pop up just to ask if Don't Starve is still up for grabs).

Just about sums it up.....
Common GOG, 20 copies left, only 0.17% left to go!

wackyanne: Here are all the games that have been previously listed as in this sale. The games marked with an X have already gone through their "last chance".

X Eador. Masters of the Broken World $5.99

FoxySage: Damn it. Missed that one yesterday. :|
Lol you missed the Eador sale? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!

Seeing other games at 80% off it's hard to pull the trigger on Don't Starve when it's only 66% off. Makes me want to wait until it shows up in a Humble Bundle or have a better discount.

TheJayDaB: Thank You. Kind Sir!
Um, you're welcome? But I'm no sir ;)
And I'm paying forward the hard work of a couple of others. Who we might as well assume are "sirs" until proven otherwise, I guess...

stan423321: We're getting really close to eating out Don't Starve, though. 20 licenses left.
I laughed more than what is appropriate at that.

gscotti: And that's actually true, too - but GOG should have been nimble enough to jump in and do some corrective action when things hit a snag (Keaning) - or, you know, just be smart and anticipate this sort of thing could happen. Just throwing your arms up is really not OK.

Falkenherz: Well, all the Keane copies sold, didn't they? So success on GOG's side, I would say.
But the brand suffered. Hence the unpleasant conversations that will take place between GOG and the Keane publisher.

After the sale is over... how will we get by, in a post-Kean world? One day at a time... One day at a time. Years from now, after we've had years of group therapy and crying to help with our suffering, this will be remembered as one of the greatest tragedies of all time, along with World War I and II, and the day Star Trek: Voyager got renewed for a second season. People will ask each other "Where were you on Jack Kean day?" I know my answer... I was here, in the trenches, with you.
Question unlike most of the other games, i dont think i saw a single comment about someone waiting to buy Jack Keane 2 during this sale....did anyone come to this sale waiting for it to turn up?
I think Don't Starve just defeated Keane's record. :(

It seems almost unbelievable... since it sold slowly :)

HAHAHA!!! Glad I'm not the only one who caught that. :-)
Did I see that right... there were 1200 copies of Don't Starve?? Dare I ask how long this one has been going?
