Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

I like Don't Starve but too many copies make for a slow change... :(

JanIIISobieski: Was I imagining things, because I could have sworn people hungered for this game, waiting for it to come on sale?

Or did those 500 people get fed, bringing this sale to a screeching halt?

Buenro-games: I think the publisher's offices closed like 2 hours ago.
Well, it did sell hundreds of copies. Too bad there wasn't thousands of people wanting it ;)

doady: I missed System Shock 2 yet again? Wow.
1200 copies @ 2 bucks
Keep informed of upcoming games that have come out, I go to sleep.
The Mac Mix Pack promo has a few good games not on this promo :)

mudd1: I really enjoyed Metal Gear Solid. Is it safe to say that I'll enjoy Thief, too, then? Or is that not a sensible comparison at all?
avatar
Buenro-games: If you enjoy the hiding and creeping part of games, then you definitely will like it. When Thief came out, the setting was exactly like all other major fantasy games with that BIG BIG exception, the focus was on the rogue abilities of a thief character. Really groundbreaking at the time and much loved.
Hmm.. might wait and buy them myself then. The gameplay does sound interesting.
Jack Starve Kane Strikes Back... I really didn't expect Don't Starve would be this slow :/
Lego Marvel on Gametrailers live feed of the PS4.

Palidor12: I love a good promo as much as anyone, but this one seems to be DRAGGING on forever.

And as I write this, the sale has yet again been brought to a near screeching halt by 1200 copies of Don't Starve...

GhostwriterDoF: Few things go smoothly on their first role-outs...
That's very true. But I actually hope they won't attempt to run this type of promotion again! Not in this format anyway.
Someone wants to trade geneforge or the real texas with might and magic bundle?

Why not?

Tulivesi: Got suckered into this sale when I checked GoG on Wednesday and saw Planescape for 1.99, started buying it but it was finished by the time I entered my details. I've gotten Theme Hospital, Reus (already played it today, super satisfied with this buy!), I Have No Mouth, Book of Unwritten Tales, Startopia and NWN2 meanwhile but still want that Planescape! Hope it doesn't appear in the next 6 hours that I'll be sleeping. *.*
That's odd. When I clicked on buy and it put it in the cart for me, I left it sit there for two of my purchases for a good half hour while I watched game trailers and did some things around the house, to come back and finish the transaction still in my cart on screen even though that game had now finished and was on to the next game or several later - I still completed my purchase. As long as you don't close the shopping cart window that pops up, the price should stay there long after they've moved on to another game. I dunno how long, but I was a good half hour after the fact and it worked. :)

It will go out eventually, but it seems it will take some time
Had a shower, ate, changed clothes... Still over 600 of Don't Starve... Perhaps I should polish my nails too...
