Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

HaydenRead: Jack Keane only got 25 for it's third round
It had 100 for it's second round and took 4 1/2 hours to sell
avatar
Fictionvision: I know about Keane's reign of terror as I was stupid enough to stay up during it. The 3rd batch at 25 sold out shockingly fast though. Maybe the game got a bad enough reputation that it got some curiosity purchases.
They should give away to buyers special "I survived Jack Keane" avatars.
I dont think im gonna make it. I've been up for a long time and im gonna pass out.

Im getting too old to stay up 24+ hours.

Thief 1+2 and Alpha Centauri might have to wait...
avatar
Arctrax: Hope this one flies... its getting late and still no sign of Theme Hospital or Alpha Centauri u.u And tomorrow I wont have my PC u.u
avatar
Kaitu: If not then I'll still keep a vigil my friend. :-)
Bless you pal, bless you !
avatar
clcaztx: So, we all know what games are excellent. What's the most surprisingly good game still left in the sale?
avatar
nijuu: I would have said Rogue Legacy but thats gone (a cult hit i guess)
I hadn't heard of it before the sale, but it seemed to be generating buzz.
In fact, I hope the next one to be a Keanesh-one, I have to leave the computer and Im gonna be angry later if they sell Thief gold or Thief 2 in the next rotation
avatar
KMJX: Speaking of giving away games, if anyone is still missing The Witcher 1, feel free to PM me. First come first serve.
Thanks for the code :D
Ultima 7...or Privateer....Pref both right next to each other so I can walk away from this sale.

CorranHorn: If you like Planescape Torment, they are doing a "spiritual" sequel that got Kickstarted so if nothing goes wrong by the time you finished the game the next one should be done =).
avatar
REZistance: Who are 'they' and do you have a link? I'm definitely interested :)
InExile. Long live Brian Fargo! resurrecting the iconic Wasteland and bringing out the sequel soon finally. Only took a couple decades =P the console industry part i mostly blame on that. And yeah he's doing a spiritual successor to Planescape too =)

OK. Ofiicially, I am starting to hear strange noises. My wardrobe makes this kind of clicking noise. Am I crazy?
I'm sorta shocked so many folks are waiting for Startopia. I've had it on my wish list forever but I feel pretty good that there are a lot of people who are interested in this game.

Now that I know someone's looking I'll keep my eyes peeled too.

Dang. I had a chance to buy that one and didn't.
Witcher 2 is gone ?
Thus far, there are at least four people wishing they had nabbed a copy of SS2. I have one spare, and there is another person looking to trade their spare copy of SS2 for Two Worlds II. Are there any other copies of SS2 looking for a good home?

Regarding my copy, I'd like to give it to the person who is most desperately seeking it. (I want it to be appreciated....) Convince me that you want it more than anyone else and I will PM you the code.

No, the wardrobe is the one that is crazy...
