Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

plan99: I don't recall any games made from actual Lovecraft titles/stories. IMO The Lurking Horror was closet in feel.
avatar
Nitecrawler: The lurking horror was ok. The best adventure with a lovecraftian feel was the uninvited guest for Amiga. Very good but i do not recall if it was only for amiga and did not have a pc version ...
I loved Lurking Horror if only because, since it was a text adventure, it perfectly delivered the Lovecraftian "Indescribable Horror" thing. I almost feel like that aspect would be discarded in anything with graphics.

Not saying Uninvited Guest was bad. I never played it.
i see it coming,... NWN2 will be a freebie too and i will miss it... because i´m too slow, to sleepy or what ever.... rly, i think it´s all a waste of time what i´m doing here.... why should something change when nwn2 shows up? ...no, it won´t! i´m not really a lucky person! ...gog made me to a zombie, .. that´s all!

Frostyfirefly: Hm, I've never played Master of Orion, is it any good?
avatar
Briareos262: I think any game under a $1.50 that one is questioning of getting is definitely worth a blind buy or even being semi interested in.
Unless it's Jack Keane ;)

kc7wzl: there was a freebie.. bah it went from TL to MoO 1-2......

I think the freebies are rigged LOL I have only see them 3 times and every time I have clicked I got the opps were sorry it 's not available. or invalid link error

Oh well..
We've got nearly no chance at hitting the freebies, the servers are in Poland and we can't get low enough ping times.
avatar
GogRobus: you must Moo!
avatar
Kaitu: I took a chance and MOOed. :-)
If you change your mind, I'm the first in line
Honey I'm still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down
If you're all alone when the pretty birds have flown
Honey I'm still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best and it ain't no lie
If you put me to the test, if you let me try.
Masters of Orion 1+2 has been my first insomnia sale purchase :)
If you like MOO then I think you would like Ascendancy,
avatar
Alien8n: Don't do it, you'll lose entire weeks, even months of your life...
avatar
Frostyfirefly: Arg, even more?? Must resist...no, finger, do not click....do. not. click. we promised we would get Geneforge together!!!
I've playing and MOO-ing so long, even Ezechiel thinks my mind it gone....
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: The worst thing that happens if you miss a Title in this sale, is that you would have to wait a few weeks before these titles go on sale again... so don't over-do it... eat, sleep if ye must...
avatar
johnnygoging: not for the same prices. though, as gog.com grows its userbase then it will have the ability to do lower margins. whether it chooses to is another thing. and true, right now divinity is on the regular sale for 75% off. but it's unlikely that we'll see prices like these again until the big sale at the end of the year. so to mention future sales is somewhat untrue. this is the first time dragon commander has been this low anywhere I think. and there have been a good few 80% off sales alongside 75% off, which is not a number that gog does often. it's unlikely any of this will happen again for a while. after the sale at the end of the year, it probably won't happen for months after.
Aye, there are some good discounts in this sale, but a couple dollars difference from the regular discounted sales pricing is not worth losing sleep or a meal over, in my estimation...
Introduced some Steam friends to GoG. First thing they do is bitch about the games not having good tutorials...

Freaking new gamers man... bro read the manual.

Why do i bother?
Damn I missed Deux Ex on the last round. Bought like 10 games but that was the top of my wishlist lol

Frostyfirefly: Hm, I've never played Master of Orion, is it any good?
It's one of the seminal 4X games.
