Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

This is taking awhile. I guess people aren't very Keane on this deal.

thanatos00: Well its a safe bet to say that RPG-s have a wider audience , not to mention that basically all the classics are on GOG that haven't really been surpassed as of yet ( still waining for project Eternity from Obsidian ( aka Black Isle )

zarquon: I guess I'm in the minority here, primarily an adventure gamer since the early days of Sierra and Lucas Arts. I have always been intrigued by RPGs, but I've never gotten around to trying one. Actually, I picked up Baldur's Gate 2 on this sale, just to see if I'd like it; for a couple of bucks, why not?
Good choice , it was my first RPG and to this day one of my most played ( im actually playing through it again now ) , though id suggest getting Baldurs Gate one and modding them with either Easytutu ( standalone installation , only main char and stats carry over to BG2 ) or BGT ( merges BG and BG2 into one game with persistent stats for companions and without save importing ) plus get the g3 fixpack and tweak pack and your good to go.

Though be prepared , BG early game can be frustrating because of low level D&D combat, which isnt overly interesting but after you hit around lvl6ish it starts to get going and just gets better and better.

It's the chaos engine all right it just ruined my chances of snagging NWN2 or IWD1.
If the game keeps selling at this rate, we should be onto the next deal in about half an hour or less. :)

I just want Torment, NWN 1 or 2, or BG.

sirchaox1224: Anyone got an updated list (or just give me the post # on an updated list)? Thanks! ;]
I do, but it won't let me post it... <GRRRR>

See Post #14269 and add:

Two Worlds 2: Epic Edition $3.99
The Chaos Engine $3.29

It's been kind of slow...

It's too expensive IMO. It would sell much faster at $1.49.

But even then i wouldn't be Keane on it. :D

I guess many are buying NWN 2 for the mod BG Reloaded =)?

BTCentral: I seriously feel like I'll need a holiday to play all the games I haven't as of yet!

Minmataro: Dude i could lock myself up for 10 years and not get through my backlog on Steam, GoG and Desura... Seriously the collection starts out small and it seems harmless. Then you realize you have over 100 games, then 200 and now im at over 800 games across five digital platforms. I could skip next gen and i would be fine.
and that separates you from us how . . . . . . . . .

:-)

Definitely, 75% or 80% would seem more reasonable honestly.

Exactly the same here. Before digital distribution was invented, I already bought over 600 CD's. After that I simply stopped counting. I can play untill the end of my life, not buying anything new. Exspecially because my favorite games are endless sandbox games or epic CRPG's.

While I was asleep has either "I have a mouth" or the Texas Ranger one showed up? (in the last 10 hours or so).

No I didn't even know about that I've never owned NWN2 period...just the first one.
Thus ends the GOG insomnia fall sale. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. Thanks Chaos Engine of Fail.
