Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

northern7: anybody here play PayDay the Heist (first one)? Any good for pure single player?
I wouldn't recommend it for single player only. Game is nowhere near as enjoyable as playing with friends or a decent random team.

Thats what it always comes down to: drawing penises.

Cardian: And it was not what it should and could have been. It was far too simplistic, really.
pretty much this. The gameplay was not at all what was promoted. I suppose if I want to be honest it was enjoyable enough, but I felt really betrayed and it was basically the last game I ever pre-ordered because the letdown was so large for me.
I have something odd here, two games but on Origin, have fun.

Works okay for single player. It's obviously better multiplayer as the bots are limited with what they can do but enjoyable enough to level right up through it. The sequel sadly doesn't work so well offline and depends more on human players.

yeah my friend built a dildo with legs as the first fully evolved land creature.

I sorta built a vagina with legs and we set up some role play story fanfiction.

anyway that's the most enjoyment we got out of spore.

turin1988: I agree that they need to do something to handle the traffic better, but 10 failed attempts due to the offer simply expiring really isn't incorrect or unexpected when you consider the limited availability and the number of people going for them.

It's not supposed to be a mass giveaway that everyone is entitled to.
I think something like "everyone who clicks within a 1-minute window gets entered in the draw" would be a better approach for the freebies.

brunosiffredi: The way GOG.com is giving out free games has to change if they intend to do this again in the future.

I've clicked on at least 10 different free game offers since the sale began and every time the same thing happens: first I got the "we are overwhelmed by the popularity of our service" page and after that I got the "this offer has expired" page.

I'm pretty sure that many, possibly the majority of users, are having a similar experience.

Shendue: Well, it's unavoidable if there's 10k people clicking on it and 20 copies.
That might be true, but my point is that it's not fun if it's not clear weather you didn't get the free game because you didn't click fast enough, because of a technical issue with GOG.com's servers or because you live in a region so distant from those servers it's impossible to you to get them.

If this is unavoidable, than it means it's not the right way to do it IMO.

I've actually seen some very impressive creations. One was a surprisingly good recreation of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.

I played it for a while. It's mainly a multiplayer game. The single player component gets boring after a while. The allied bots aren't so great either.

Try to get payday 2 or get some friends for multiplayer.
