Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

BlueLemon: Anyone having trouble posting?
avatar
BeorntheBear: Not at this moment. However, several members (me included) voiced trouble with posting yesterday.
Someone's trying to pull a Keane again? The forum died the instant Jack went on its final sale last time.

mantarrochen: How long until X-Rebirth is coming to GOG?
I don't think anything from EgoSoft is even on GOG...
well even though I am not much of a populous fan I did get it for the $1.49..

I did not mind Black and white or what ever that game was call.. other than the coding was so horrid the game flaked out and crashed all the time... ( it was the start of a hate affair with EA )
Know what else i miss? Old maxis... The one runned by ol' Will.
WE MISS YOU WILL!

Fuck EA for ruining Spore!

Well, you can never get enough Keane.

xenxander: Creature Isle.. just more pets... *sigh* I have both and after a time, I realized they weren't that good, all things considered.

Cardian: I see them as Molyneux's downfall. I think it was with B&W1 that he started with all the crazy things that would totally be in the final game. And then they weren't....
He promised so much for B&W1 and almost nothing came through into the game, still it was a pretty fun game. I made my Pet a horrible Man eating monster that murdered and killed everything as soon as I unleashed it but everyone loved me as I were a kind and loving god *insert evil laughter here*
Anyone play Re-Birth? I noticed its been on steams top seller list for awhile.
Damn! I step away for less than an hour and missed Rogue Legacy. :\

Stoltverd: I want it but its too expensive. Hope it's so good as all the (ok almost all) other x games
Im interested in this title ... but Im currently trying to get away from Steam. So I have to wait until above mentioned happens. :D

Stoltverd: You guys remember white and black? and W&B 2? They were good but they started the downfall of god games

xenxander: that's "Black and White" and actually they kinda sucked.

It's a glorified "take care of your pet" game.
I thought the same. It had so much potential but ended up a huge let-down. I still remember the shock and confusion with so many gamers with the first one when they had just gotten out of the tutorials and suddenly a handful of levels later it was game over. The pet had potential but it ended up a bad Tamagochi (remember them?) type game melded with a bad strategy game and then a layer of frustrating puzzle stuff on top where you were often battling the controls and physics engine more than you were the enemy gods.

B&W2 tried to fix these things and make it more Populous. I'd say it was more fun and polished a game, but far less ambitious and was also a bit disappointing in the end.

Of course because Peter was involved there were endless half-arsed ideas and unfinished elements scattered throughout he'd obviously abandoned when he got bored and moved onto another idea he could hype to the gamers during development... I think he worked best in Bullfrog as there must have been others who worked well to balance him out.

I actually got it for free, had about 10 games that I rescued from someone's dustbin (I'm guessing jealous ex)
Hopefully MagRunner isn't up next at 9.99... I don't remember, did it sell last time?

Buenro-games: The promotion for that game at its time was HUGE. It never lived up to its expectations.
Peter Molyneux, hype up a game? Never!

Everyone exploded in disappointment and horror at seeing it again. The forum just couldn't handle the millions of voices crying out at once.

sirchaox1224: *Yawn* Did Jack Keane strike again last night?
