Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea

Fezred: Yes, I think Europe got the better deal out of that. I've played both and Terranigma was a unique gem of a game. It really felt like an epic adventure while being an emotional storytelling rollercoaster and showing off the SNES at its best with some super duper art work. The combat and boss battles were excellent and the towns and town development one of the best examples of its kind on that format and many others. The musical score was perfect too. Really helped it tug at the hearstrings and get its message across.

Remember Bloody Mary? God help you if you didn't do some major levelling up for her.

Cardian: But that was also the thing I didn't like about the game. When you reached a boss you had to level to that magic level that let you do more than 1 damage. Lots of grinding involved.
Well, actually, if you had the right rings (I'm not spoiling it), the Bloody Mary fight was downright easy. I'll admit that the first time I got to her I threw my SNES controller at a wall. Seriously. And I got through her via a lot of grinding in her castle but, then again, with a game that good, I didn't feel like grinding was a chore, like I do in most RPGs that absolutely require it. All other boss fights in Terranigma didn't require grinding at all (even Bloody Mary won't, like I learnt afterwards, on a second playthrough, when I decided to try all the rings I had in my inventory, and one of them worked wonders against her).

And, on a side note, I don't *hate* Chrono Trigger, I just think it's seriously overrated. Then again, I've always been more of an action RPG kind of guy, and the fact CT is turn-based and has all those random encounters makes it so much less appealing to me. Terranigma is just way more fluid and has a great story to boot.

xenxander: x-men was good too. The original cartoon series I mean, on fox kids morning, next to spider man (which was also good).

both of these cartoon series though suck now, with new art, new voices, childish... er.. everything. *sigh*

dedoporno: As a matter of fact I'm slogging through X-Men TAS right now. I'm currently at the end of season four and I gotta tell you - it's not as cool as I remember it. It's like it is too childish, which is fine by me. It just can get me so hooked like when I was a kid. Now, Batman - that's another deal. I re-watched it about two months ago and it was as perfect as it was 20 years ago.

Also Mask of the Phantasm - another brilliant installment.
Yeah but that opening music!!!! You just wanted to see an epic battle take place! and in some episodes you actually did get your epic mutant battles, while that awesomeness that was the soundtrack played!

truhlik77: Didn't I missed Planescape torment?

marcusghost: I got Planescape Torment when in the first round of the sale. That was a madness, 700 copies of NWN went away in less that a minute, the same for Riddick and Planescape.
Isane:)
