Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.

Larry.
Now, give me Reloaded and I'm off :)

alebelp: I think GOG made a big mistake not putting captchas to the free game.. i seriously suspect the "winners" must be bots! I didn't even get the chance to see Beyond Good and Evil that it disappeared a nanosecond later!
I think the problem is connection speed. By the time the last Thunderstorm showed up for me, there were already 8 of them gone. And by the time I clicked half a second later, they were all gone.

1Mrlittleman: How many are left??
About the half.
Game #50 (including the freebies)
I'm fairly sure GOG will hail this as a win because they'll've sold all the sale units the posted, but I think this is a bad idea for the average consumer (or anyone who doesn't live in front of a computer screen) as opposed to the person willing to leave a browser page and maintain CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Unless you pop in at the exact moment, you're not going to get a deal because (in a random sampling) the game you want won't be up for sale.

All this does is manufacture artificial scarcity, which is something that doesn't exist for *any* of the products they offer for sale.

I disapprove of this, GOG. This may be about games, and rather old (as in, old school sales methods) but it is not good.

Bad show.
Ugh, 500 copies of Leisure Suit Larry...

I pray that it will end soon.
King´s Bounty really was fast!

mebahell: I'm sorry but I don't like this promo very much, and I suspect to not be the only one :\
avatar
senhorlampada: Why's that?
Because I don't think it's cool that I should continuosly hit F5 to HOPE to see if a game I like will be put in the promo (I obviously don't even try the freebies), and in general I don't like that something that is not limited in quantity (like a digital game). One thing that I like from traditional promos is to discover games I didn't know I could be interested, and with this promo for me is impossible.
Anyway, is not like I'm angry or similar, I will probably simply desist shortly and hope/wait for future
discounts.
Free games are a bit dodgy, they are gone as soon as it appears... BOTS perhaps?

Other than that this is possibly the best ever deals so far on gog, none of that pay what you want crap!
Free game incoming :D

Ophelium: Buy King's Bounty!

HypersomniacLive: you mean buy it again?

Too late anyway, Larry's on.
Seems like it's not even worth posting about the games because by the time you read about it it's not on sale anymore. Might as well just keep watching the front page like I'm sort of doing right now.
I thought LSLarry would buy me some time to get some food, but they're more than half gone already ;-;

ktchong: How long is this thing going to go on?
Around two to three more hours, I'm guessing. We're halfway there.
Leisure Suit Larry? Sold!

Hello again, Childhood!

Bosamba: This kind of tactic should be beyond GOG.
I agree. One of the things I value about GOG is that it normally avoids exclusivity as well as exploitation of blind consumerism, at least it approaches these things far more carefully than the competition and to me it makes GOG appear like a sophisticated place that respects me and every other consumer. This promo goes absolutely against all of this.
