Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Yeah GoG, wasn't the entire point of this sale to have deals that were so quickly gone that you couldn't blink, and enough deals to not want to sleep to see what's next? Doesn't it defeat the purpose to force us to wait HOURS on a game that sells maybe one unit every 5 minutes? Here's an idea, if the thing doesn't sell out in 15 minutes, move to the next deal, and put the rest of these remaining 'stock' at the back of the line, that way we don't have to wait for the games we are waiting for. This is getting stupid.
Doesn't help that the two newest reviews are unpromising as shit, haha.
You got to be kidding. It took that long to sell that last game and this pops up?????
This is bullocks. they time the slow burners around this time last night as well...sheesh

RandomJC: Is this game any good? (God I hate my paycheck hitting making me think I can actually afford a $22 game.)
It's supposed to be, though I can't say from personal experience. It's mired in my neverending backlog...
Zelda on SNES was good, but Terranigma had it beat hands down, I feel. Now that was a beautiful game in its day.

Khaleesia87: Divinity Dragon Commander:

250 copies for "only" $22.50?!

You gotta be kidding me..

I will never get to see the promo of Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition or Lucius T-T
avatar
Cardian: I gave away a key to Lucius during the Thunderkeane draught, but you can nab it right now for $1 over at Indiegala.com together with The 39 Steps and Star Wolves 3, along with some other games if you shell out around 5 bucks.
cheers never heard of the just bought the bundle

ahab: It was no different to any sale in a brick and mortar store and if seeing "x number left buy now" is pressuring you to buy you need to rethink your priorities. If anything GoG have brought out some classic human behaviour that has been amusing to watch.
avatar
amok: And you know what? I do not like those sales also, where as false pressure is created. And it do not make sense for a digital store, where there is no physical stock to be sold out, to create this effect except to pry on those amusing human behaviors. I do not like it when a demand is artificially created do just so. And that is what I am objecting to. You may like it, I do not at all.
/facepalm The friggin' prices of online stores are mostly artificial and arbitrary. As far as old games are concerned, you're paying WAY too much for rights and management than you should. For new games that don't go through the process of retailing with a decent PAPER manual, big pretty box and other goodies (which we were getting back in the 90s for the same or even lower price for a AAA title), you're paying way too much anyway. I don't see you bitching about that though.
The problem is that $20-25 is a bit of an oddball price point. Those (few) that were willing to pay the full whack for the game will already have done so, most will wait until the price has dropped to $10 or less. $22 is a price point that doesn't really seem to cater to anyone.

nijuu: What did i miss after thunderscape?
Loads

Oh wait nothing

Surely they must have looked at that....
After the JK2 fiasco they dropped the quantity to 25 wasnt it?

Looks like they wanted to mimic the limited stock sales that are in brick and mortar stores

So much greed in the GoG userbase ME ME ME ME ME

What you wrote is sort of a contradiction
Wake me up where this looong duet (Thunderscape + Divinity) ends .
