Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Palidor12: I only joined GOG this summer, so I've never seen a holiday sale. Can you tell me what types of discounts have they offered in the past years?
avatar
Briareos262: I think it was 50% percent off on almost entire catalog druing winter holiday sale. Also some 1 day bundles of nice discounts of 66 or 75% off selection of games.
Okay, thanks for the info. Not quite as good as the 80% off they're offering on some games now, but I'm not sure I want to sit at my computer for another day. :-(

israr665: Hey guys what's your opinion about the game 'Don't' Starve' ?
I don't know if I should get it or not
I've heard lots of praise about it from my friend at work. It's the only one I'm really staying awake for ^_^
You probably already know that as hey I remember you. I think you were looking for Thief 1 or something. It hasn't showed up yet. Were in limbo land with Thunderscape past couple hours....
Ooooo Nox at $2.39 *drools* *slaps self* Need to keep an eye on the prize.... (hopefully even cheaper!) Witcher 2 XD

There probably was 80% percent of too as someone mentioned earlier. It's usually selective tho. Might have been a D&D bundle from last holiday sale GoG did. I don't remember probably tho.

It's quite good. Very much so 'survival wilderness' game, revolves around trying to scavenge supplies, set up a camp, arm yourself with equipment... It takes some patience, as a scarcity of resources can sometimes be frustrating, but the game allows you to control the amount of almost every resource and enemy, so you can fine-tune the difficulty.

Basically, it's a tough game, even with the ability to choose a very precise difficulty, but potentially very satisfying if you do well. Worth grabbing at the huge discounts on offer here.

Another helpful soul in this thread already mentioned it but let me stress this again:

The weekend sale is up! Mac Mix Max Pack - games for Mac and PC. Like Witcher 1, Magic Carpet Plus, Another World 20th or Populous.
I don't mind this sale. I just go and do things if it's slow, or read more of the thread. I went to bed and woke up to find that a few slow sales had went, one still going now, lol, it was funny reading the thread. The games have come up a few times, and there will be other sales. :) It's like HB, or Steam, etc.: I don't feel like I have to participate in every sale, or that every sale has to suit me, I just leave it and wait for the next..
I thought I have to be very quick to grab a copy of Thunderscape, but it looks like it doesn't sell very well. At least now I have a copy of this game, and I didn't had to be very fast.
Thunderscape 2: There is no escape!
Hey guys. I finally fell asleep around The Book of Unwritten Tales. What I miss?
