Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

BeorntheBear: Just woke up and logged back on. It looks like I missed out on some great conversation. Did I miss anything else?
Nah, all kinds of Keanes mostly. And next up is probably Divinity: Keane Commander.

It's a bit like Commander Keen, but nothing of the sort.

Okay, I'll get me coat, k thx bye.

Faenwulf: I've been away nearly 9 hours and the sale only went along 6 games since Eador?

I'm thankful. I, too, went to bed when Eador took its time and returned to Book of Unwritten Tales. Thank god I already have BG2 and M&M1-6. I guess I could unite Xeen in the remaining time of Thunderkeane...

I'm hoping and praying that Divinikeane will take the 10-12 EST slot for me.... I have class.... Screw it....

CorranHorn: Kinect is impressive from a technical standpoint but I can´t see how they are going to do core/hardcore games with it. As a supplement, absolutely, Kinect and Oculus Rift now there something I think could work really well.

Never got the first Playstation but I do remember their commercial "Don´t underestimate the power of Playstation" and wanted one after learning of all the games for it. Psygnosis is a developer I remember fondly, Wipeout looked so good that I would probably have bought one if I had the money for it=).

Briareos262: Lol, I remember those PS One commercials vaguely. Yeah still I somehow like zero interest in Kinetic and just don't ever see hardcore games implmented like its too obvious they are trying to get a more of a audience with it that seems to be mostly just casuals that like Just Dance and crap =P

Back to PS One again Wipeout was great at its time, tho hard as hell to ever complete, well for me at least. I think I just got up to the 2nd race and got bored of it. Then again I kinda suck at racing games anyway. However I do take enjoyment out of some like Mario Kart for DS, love that game.....unfortunatly I lost it some years ago..... =/
NES was my first console, sadly I sold it with all my games (even had Mike Tyson´s Punch Out which later was renamed) and my Zapper (Duck Hunt was so damn fun to play, Gumshoe made me go berserk=)).

Got a SNES mostly for the Street Fighter 2 (probably the game that made me buy a SNES over a Megadrive/Genesis). And boy did I want the NEO-GEO, so many good games but that was just something I could dream about since it cost a fortune.

Sadly, I never had an NES, but my cousin did and I always went to his place to play SMB1-3. The SNES was my first own console (my brother had an Atari SX) and I loved it, still do. There just aren't any games like Terranigma anymore. And I don't even know how many iterations of Chrono Trigger I've bought over the years...

I hope you're not interested in THOSE games since that was the list with games that already had their final run.

Man, I stayed to 3AM, to wait for BG2, went to sleep for couple of hours, got up to go to the zeros and checked on what's going on. There were like 60 something copies of Sniper Elite that were dragging and I figured I should go back to sleep. And now I find that BG2 was the next game, sigh...

Does anyone know if GOG said something about the matter of converting PS:T from Windows only usage to Mac usage?

Aaaaaaaaand I missed BG2 again... =( Seriously, I went to bed around 1AM with Eador being displayed for over an hour and it didn't sell half of the 400 copies. Now the one I wanted probably came up at 3 or 4 AM. I'm done with this sale, I rather prefer the 4 hour Steam deals, because at least that allows you to grab what you want no matter which time zone you live.
God... is this still going on?

My impressions of this sale:

Hurry hurry, buy now!! this is the last one!

nah, just kidding, here are some more :)

But now - hurry hurry, quick quick buy buy buy - this is the last one!

nah, just kidding, here are some more :)

Truly believe us! BUY NOW, QUICK QUICK QUICK - ONLY 200 left!!!! BUY NOW!!!!

nah, just kidding, here are some more :)

Rinse and repeat.

I do not like this sales tactics at all. To me it borders on lying, and it creates an unnatural shortage which makes people buy even if they are not sure if they want to have the game or not.

I think BG2 will show up in a X-mas promo again, so do not worry. :)
