Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

MGShogun: Just wondering........ is anyone in this thread using the mechanical keyboard?
avatar
garrus74: Yep, why do you ask?
It's just a random thought that pop up in my head.

I've been typing a lot of messages in this thread and I realized that if I had my rubber dome keyboard, my hands would be sore right now. Luckily, I have mechanical keyboard so I can lightly type on it.

What kind of board do you have?

Mine is CM Storm Quickfire, brown switch.

Uzur9: Think I'll kick back and watch SPAWN the HBO anime/chartoon
awesome choice. That one is among my top 10 favorite animated films of all time =D
avatar
MGShogun: Sweet, I will be looking for Ghost in the Shell series, then. It looks to be very quality series.
avatar
Briareos262: I would chip in and recommenced Akira, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, Berserk, Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, among probably some more I'm forgetting now. Those are really fun too. Oh yeah Gantz too is awesome tho a bit really graphic with violence and such...however im sure that could be said of some of the others I recommended previously anyways =)
Those are all nice and oldschool but everybody should watch Attack on Titan now. It's awesome. And, of course, Death Note as the best manga to anime translation ever.

Already saw all of them, lol.

I'm probably one of those dedicated anime fanboy. I currently review new anime series for a living.

I think I saw about 40, 50 new anime series from this year alone. X.X

God, I just adore anime so much.

Anime cons? Not so much. :(

ahab: You didn't buy it in this sale ;)
avatar
animalmother2105: Of course I did not, it was not up. It was the first game I bought here. One of the reason I even joined. :)
Maybe I was just going to buy it....I can't remember

Death note, at least in my opinion had a lackluster copout ending. Otherwise it was pretty awesome.

Not big fan of Attack on Titan but I can see why everyone adore it. I vastly prefer manga version a lot, even if the art style is bit....... jarring.

My issue with AoT anime is that the pacing is too uneven and sluggish. Also, the animation itself isn't really consistent. :(

But hey, AoT has pretty awesome characters and story. :)

Cardian: I don't do ninjaing. I like the personal contact. So it went to dedoporno ^_^
Nowadays due to abuse, most giveaways in the Ninja thread are similar to your post here, asking if anyone wants a particular game to reply back, then first person gets it or similar. It's more personal and no drive by leechers that never speak. :) Raw keys are still posted there but not usually by regulars anymore as everyone has understandably gotten tired of bots and lurking leeches. :) It's a friendly place though.

I pretended that Death Note ended when one of the main characters met his fate. :P

Easier for me to accept it.
If you like anime then Ergo Proxy maybe something you like.
Spoiler the weekend promo is the unlimited limited promo with 101 games priced better than they were in the Insomnia promo

Briareos262: Yeah I've been a fan of the Sony since the PS1 days granted it was a very slow start, however they came about to having some nice exclusives and a vastly extended good mix of games by the PS2 and PS3 era. Microsoft isn't so bad ::gasp:: I know I said it. The games were okay at first then there was good selection. I agree Kinetic is a gimmick very similar to Wii. I just ignore it tho =P I still to this day do not have a Kinectic and had a PS3 Move never used tho since last Christmas only because that one came with the system =P

CorranHorn: Kinect is impressive from a technical standpoint but I can´t see how they are going to do core/hardcore games with it. As a supplement, absolutely, Kinect and Oculus Rift now there something I think could work really well.

Never got the first Playstation but I do remember their commercial "Don´t underestimate the power of Playstation" and wanted one after learning of all the games for it. Psygnosis is a developer I remember fondly, Wipeout looked so good that I would probably have bought one if I had the money for it=).
Lol, I remember those PS One commercials vaguely. Yeah still I somehow like zero interest in Kinetic and just don't ever see hardcore games implmented like its too obvious they are trying to get a more of a audience with it that seems to be mostly just casuals that like Just Dance and crap =P

Back to PS One again Wipeout was great at its time, tho hard as hell to ever complete, well for me at least. I think I just got up to the 2nd race and got bored of it. Then again I kinda suck at racing games anyway. However I do take enjoyment out of some like Mario Kart for DS, love that game.....unfortunatly I lost it some years ago..... =/

Wow, we have the same boards then. I guess not surprising given the price/quality ratio on that one. I do find that I need to use a wristrest to be comfortable for long sessions though.
