Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Piranjade: It's a cool game, very intense but also stressful.

Shendue: The only game i've played with a similar concept (survival) is Lost in Blue for Nintendo DS, which was pretty interesting to me because i liked the concept, but the fact you have to carry around a stupid biatch that does nothing more useful that dying of starvation every five minutes kills the fun in it. Since it seems it's just you and no dead weight in this and Miasmata i may give them a chance.
I freaking hate those games, or game sections, in which you have to protect totally inept and defenseless NPCs. It's a tremendously boring and annoying idea to me.
Terraria is another example (of sorts). Great game. And the NPCs care for themselves (in that they simply respawn after a while if anything should happen to them).

Alien8n: I'm looking forward to Thief 4 but may wait till next year after upgrading the console
avatar
Briareos262: Ah the console race. Yeah I'm totally skipping that one till I pay my one credit card off, owe like almost 5k on that one. So yeah its probably a good thing the next gen is coming around the corner so fast like that. I expect within a 2 years or so when I'm able to get a PS4 or Xbone one they will be bundled with 2 free games and the errors from the first batch will have already been sorted like those RRD and such from the previous console launches.
I got my PS3 when the 80Gb version came out, it still sounded like a jet engine taking off :/

Got the Xbox 360 off a mate and so far had zero issues with it, just wish they'd done the PS3 thing and aloud you to swap the hard drives out, the PS3 now has a 500Gb drive in it :)

Tie: C'mon people! It even has a 'By the power of Grayskull'ish graphic!
lol I had just noticed that too. Now if it had the He Man name I probably would have clicked on it and bought it out of sheer nostalgia ^_^
Soooo, while we're waiting: Anybody interested in a Steam key for Lucius?

deropo: I just had to slep. So: Was Tropico already there in the last round?

WilderRabbit: Hi everybody. Has Chaos Overlords been up for grabs?
avatar
Xuio: Nope.
Thanks for the answer.
avatar
mortalkombat: did I miss Jack Keane 2 ???
Nope you did not, however may I remind you that most (if not all) positive reviews you read about the game were falsified to generate interest for the game because it literally became a virtual "sale stopper" yesterday.

yes you did miss it, my bad

The sane people in the US are all asleep and the Europeans are at work. I expect it to be slower than usual for another 4 to 6 hours

Nice yeah I retired my 60 or was it 80 gig PS3 model too. Sucker was heavy and really did sound like a jet engine. It still works too however I had to upgrade with the it only having 80 gigs wasn't enough =/ So i've had the ps3 slim for like about a year now works great too. The 360 I got lucky, I think I had picked up the 2nd version. I never got a lemon with 2nd fat model of the 360 like I know many others have with system with those early launches back in the day.

I am of the belief that regardless your machine of choice just have fun with your game. I myself am a PC person. But only because Im at odds with the console controller. I got introduced to it in a competitive environment (christmas holiday vacation with friends :D) playing Fifa something - soccer. You might imagine this is very confusing to the newb. Where are my men? Why did I pass the ball to this guy and not the other? Where IS the ball?! And so on. I remember that the muscle below your thumbs hurt very badly and enthusiastical me just pressing D (or was it circle?) all through the match.
Say...

Don't suppose anyone would be up for buying me a copy of NwN2, Planescape, Evoland, System Shock 2 and Jade Empire? To be reimbursed with a trade of any game of roughly equal value?

No? But...but...sleep is nice.

Yes, they did. Jack Keane has already had its final sale, with a whopping 25 copies. It didn't last too long, either, unlike that horrible night.
avatar
zlep: I *was* looking forward to Thief 4, until I heard more about it. Now I'm not so sure. Still hopeful though...
avatar
Shendue: Yeah, it looks like it has been really dumbed down to appeal the casual console audience.
avatar
deropo: I just had to slep. So: Was Tropico already there in the last round?

Shendue: Nope.
thanks ;)
avatar
animalmother2105: And they did it also in the summer. I got BG1, BG2, ID1, ID2, NWN1 & 2 plus some other D&D stuff for $16.
avatar
skeletonbow: Yep, they are very very popular games in our crowd and highly likely to be on any major promos in the future at the same discounts I imagine. People can't buy enough copies of it. :) Funny enough I gobbled them up in a heartbeat but haven't played any of them yet. I know they're all more or less games to dedicate your life to for some period of time so I need to be set up to do that and get right into them as they're intended to be and "savour the flavour" so to speak. I'll probably start digging in next year and starting with the oldest title and going forward from there. Should be a blast, although possibly a multi-year blast. LOL
Lol, me too. Bought in a heartbeat a did not touch it yet. But after going through Theme Hospital and Betrayal at Krondor, I am starting BG1.
