Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

skeletonbow: If you miss it, all the D&D titles will almost certainly be on sale again in a few weeks or so for the holiday promo which lasts a month. They were around 75 to 80% off last winter on at least 3 different days. Last year GOG had a different promo every day for a month or more, and then there were 2 days where they repeated all of the promos all in a single day, giving at least 3 chances at titles. Hopefully they do something similar this year.
And they did it also in the summer. I got BG1, BG2, ID1, ID2, NWN1 & 2 plus some other D&D stuff for $16.
Can we shake that Magik 8 Ball for the next game ?
I really like the current exchange rate for dollar to euro. Has been better in the past, though.

Briareos262: The Thief series was really fun. I remember playing a bit of the first game oh so long ago.
I'm looking forward to Thief 4 but may wait till next year after upgrading the console

Yeah I've bought many games for the same price as a couple of Big Macs (though I don't eat that crap anyway).
Shame that more people don't want Thunderscape, the game is really underrated and if you get past the pixellated 3D graphics it's a really solid dungeon crawler, the character/party creation system is basically something pulled straight out of a P&P RPG, really great with so many skills/races and the like to make different types of characters.
I vote we draw straws and the loser buys all 263 copies.
I've definitely got to say that if ANYONE ever does a sale like this again, they NEED to put a TIMER as well as limited quantity. This is just ridiculous. Ugh.... I have class in 5 and a half hours.....

$ to £ is not bad either.

Shendue: Did someone play Don't Starve already? Is it any good?
avatar
Piranjade: It's a cool game, very intense but also stressful.
The only game i've played with a similar concept (survival) is Lost in Blue for Nintendo DS, which was pretty interesting to me because i liked the concept, but the fact you have to carry around a stupid biatch that does nothing more useful that dying of starvation every five minutes kills the fun in it. Since it seems it's just you and no dead weight in this and Miasmata i may give them a chance.
I freaking hate those games, or game sections, in which you have to protect totally inept and defenseless NPCs. It's a tremendously boring and annoying idea to me.

Yep, they are very very popular games in our crowd and highly likely to be on any major promos in the future at the same discounts I imagine. People can't buy enough copies of it. :) Funny enough I gobbled them up in a heartbeat but haven't played any of them yet. I know they're all more or less games to dedicate your life to for some period of time so I need to be set up to do that and get right into them as they're intended to be and "savour the flavour" so to speak. I'll probably start digging in next year and starting with the oldest title and going forward from there. Should be a blast, although possibly a multi-year blast. LOL
Looks like Rise of the Thunderscope Tales:)

ahab: why not wait

People buying a game they don't want to get to the next deal is highly amusing but also really sad.

bew1977: This is like the entire reason humble bundle exists...
That and some of the games (sometimes most of them) most already own from previous bundles or as a digital or retail copy.
