Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Anyone willing to buy me a copy of The Book of Unwritten Tales just so we can speed things up?

It's a win-win situation! :D

Kaitu: Which ones are you waiting for?
avatar
Devoidless: NwN2, Planescape, System Shock 2, Jade Empire and -maybe- Evoland.

Not sure if that free SS2 counted as a last chance, so that's why I'm adding it.
From what I have seen, every game is getting three rounds for sale and one as a freebie. SS2 is still waiting for a Round Three sale.
This is really a good game. Get it! :)

northern7: well, since everyone is waiting around, how bout a question:

How do you go about trading a game between members? what is the process?
As long you don't redeem the code, you can still trade it.

Just PM each other and redeem it via www.gog.com/gift.

But..... if the game is already in your shelf.......... it's not tradable, unfortunately.
=( Well I have to be up for work in five hours. Guess I'm going to have to call it quits. I was really hoping to at least get Planescape and BG1. At least I snagged BG2. There's always the Christmas sale to look forward to I suppose.

You check the gift box before checking out your purchase, and you get a 16 digit code that can be redeemed at the "redeem gift" link at the bottom of the page.

Jawsome.

Hope I'll be able to see most (if not all) of the games on my list before I fall asleep. I was up until 6AM EST trying to get them yesterday.
12 more chapters to catch up. Excellent.

I send them a PM asking what they have, what I got and if they are interested in a trade. Then barter back n fort like "I got this, you interested in trading for that?" Then you send codes. If you are a new person with low rep they may want you to send first. You can check to see if a code is valid before redeeming it, so once they get your code they would send you theirs.

If you are unsure about trading with people at the start, try to stick with members that have high rep as they are more well known here and (hopefully) less likely to be trying to pull a scam.

Ah yes....... this one.

I forget this one. My bad.
Actually, no. Anyone buying this game for me is actually a lose-lose situation.

You have to buy it for me, and I have to own it. Though on the plus side we move closer towards the next game on offer!

The Book of Unwritten Tales is a really entertaining game.
But since it was in many promos, most people who wanted it, have already owned a copy I suppose.
Well, it's kind of hard to justify. I mean, $4.99 goes a long way in a sale like this.

Alpha Centauri $1.49 + Ultima 7 $1.49 + System Shock 2 $1.99 = $4.97
Chronicles of Riddick $2.99 + NWN Diamond $1.99 = $4.98
Geneforge 1-5 $2.99 + Thief Gold $1.99 = $4.98

Don't get me wrong it's a good game. The price is fantastic for it. But this late in the sale, most folk are holding out for the one'sy two'sies they missed the first time around. Or are trying to get the most bang for their buck for gifting others. Divinity: Dragon Commander ought to really throw a wrench in the works at $22.49 for the third time around.
