Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

One cool thing I just noticed is how, despite all the other games being sold in such huge quantities, some of the top-sellers like Pharaoh, or Myst, still haven't been toppled from the front page!
Did I miss something in between Keaneador and Sniper Elite?

Just about everyone awake at this point.

You did not.
gog really needs to reduce the number of copies suited to the game especially in the 3rd round. My bank account is so hurt that now I even cant buy games to lower the bar :(

FledglingPidgeon: ^This.
Crazy, isn't it? Got within minutes of my final two, drinking enough coffee to make Juan Valdez's donkey go into seizures, fell asleep anyway, tried to talk myself out of attempting to go for them again, and yet here I am, in for another all-nighter.
Say what you will about this sale, they might as well have named it the 3 Day OCD Fiesta.
Waiting for system shock 2 and war game.
Now I have an urge for sword of the start too.

So far, two pairs off the list (RotR/Septerra & Blood/MoM), two solo acts (Jack Keane & Lords of Midnight) and the current is a trifecta (Myst/Eador/Sniper).

Edit: Sorry, wrong quote.

ahab: why not wait

People buying a game they don't want to get to the next deal is highly amusing but also really sad.
To quote a salesman in "Dilbert," This is a lot like clubbing baby seals.

I was one of the very lucky few who got the free copy of system shock 2 :p

gizmomelb: If they offer Magrunner at 75% off ($5) I'll definately be buying it.. it's been on my want list for a while.. $10 is too expensive for me though
I believe the prices are the during each round. So, it will probably still be $9.99.

Yellowsamuel: I wish GOG had put up a wider variety of games for this sale. I only got rid of two things off my wishlist!!!
avatar
cdnred: Almost a sixth of the catalog was up (in spurts and over 24 hours), normally Wednesdays only bring a 1 game 24 hour sale. ;)
Sorry, not complaining. Just wish I had been able to grab more of what I wanted, though I think I missed out on some great deals due to finding out about this sale a wee bit late and having to go to work. Looking forward to the Xmas sale :D

gogbot: Does this round seem to be following any type of pattern compared to the last two (same goupiings)?

Well, I am one of those, but my will to remain is fading (the fact that I have to get up for work tomorrow may have something to do with that). Going to see how long it takes for Sniper Elite to go down... if it is quick I will try to stick around. Otherwise, off to bed.
I wonder if GOG will be holding a new weekend sale in a few hours; this Insomnia Sale will be hard to follow.
