Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

justanoldgamer: Looks like I was bit optimistic in my prevision for Eador. In any case I'm going to bed, there is only one game left on my shopping list and I don't really mind if I miss it, there will be other sales.
Sorry to hear Gnite. I keep telling myself that too in my head however I can't bring myself to sleep knowing there is still a chance out there for Don't Starve. I can do it, it's only been almost 20 hours of sleep deprivation. i know it's gonna hit, I just know it ^_^

npalsensei: Also, what's so bad about Eador btw? The bugs?
Eador:Genesis (no real bugs, OK interface, some questionable choices in not letting the player know in advance precisely what the lose conditions are) is already a bit of niche game because is takes the idea of "grinding" and raises it to the 4th or 5th power -- that only really appeals to a certain type of OCD gamer. (Unlike most 4x games where more territory means more power so the end-game goes quickly, in Genesis it gets to a point where more territory means less power, causing the grind to just grind on even longer.) Eador:MatBW is like Genesis, but with added bugs and a less efficient interface (as I understand it -- I haven't played MatBW myself, did play Genesis though). (Oh, there's also better graphics in MatBW, but the graphics in Genesis were just fine in my book -- graphics is not the part of Genesis I would have liked to see improved.)

npalsensei: I seriously cannot comprehend why would ANYONE in his right mind actually buy things he doesn't like only to get the sales going. I won't believe people actually did that xP

bew1977: JK2 sold so badly the Devs came in and said it was so people could sleep. People bought it to move
Didn't think that post was legit. WoW.
This wouldn't be so bad if the iPad would actually let me login, I could run that for the main page while chatting here. At least the counter is synced when you're not logged in

Yeah. iOS browser has issues with this site.

fulano5321: Yes, but with this setup they force people to buy copies of a game they don't want so they can see the next deal... lots more money for them... and it's hard to complain about a company putting a product you don't really want on sale. :)

I know of several that have bought the game just to see the next game. :)

I wonder if they look at it this way: They've saved enough money on the sale so far that they can spend a little on a game they don't very badly to save more on games they do want.

Personally, I'm poor enough that I can't do such things.

Bovrillor: A little micro-management would go a long way though. The GoG staff must be able to see Eador isn't selling. Why not rotate it out halfway
But it is selling. Just slowly. You're essentially asking them to force lost sales of the product, despite the fact they have 99.999999% probability of selling every 'copy' of said product.

To put it in perspective, if someone walks up to you and says "I will give you 500 of this product. I guarantee it will sell, but I cannot guarantee how fast or how slow you will be able to sell it. You will make $10 for each one you sell.", then offers you two choices:
- You only have 30 minutes to do so, after that, you eat the cost of any remaining product.
- You can take as long as you want to sell all 500, but be warned, it could take you 12 hours to do so.

Would you really choose the half hour route?

Uzur9: Didn't think that post was legit. WoW.
Wow didn't know of that. That is freaking hilarious. It does make perfect sense though. It is good to have some downtime for breaks and maybe a good couple hours sleep like I'm sure Jack Keene 2 provided with.
Space, the final graveyard, these are the voyagers of the S.S. Insomnia.
Cpt. Jack Keane
Engineer, LaForge Eador
Weapons, Riker Triad
May luck allow them to live through their journey to save the Federation
I just fell asleep and woke up to see the counter had dropped by 1 :/
I'm all dinnered up and ready to go, I've got my eye on three more games..

That wasn't sleep. That was a blink.
I got System Shock 2 for free! I tried to get other freebies too but it never worked until that one. Hahaha Eador is taking so long...
Eador = Adore

Only anagram I could think of.

And one that is as far from fitting as possible right now.
Nah, ii'm logged in with my iPad, version 6.1.3 and already bought a couple of stuff
