Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Hope they mix it up. Having IWD/BG/System2/Dont Starve/Planescape etc big sellers at the end of the 2nd round was hardly fair
Wonder how many copies of NWN2 they will put up? it was 1400 last time :P

Bovrillor: I agree.

I've waited... 8 hours for 'Don't Starve' and 'Wing Commander 4' now.

I already own discs for the latter. I'm now considering pirating the former and going to bed. GoG is shooting themselves in the foot with this Eador/Jack Keane BS

McDon: Please don't pirate indie games, especially one as good as that one...
I wouldn't be surpised if 90% of these games are sold at same or better % off during x-mas.
I'm all most certain don't starve will be back at $4.99, however, I also don't like this promo at all! Not at all....

And to spend 8 hours to buy a product and not get it, that was his limit, and still didn't get it :/
Shouldn't go blaming the devs, for helping gog.com try something new, its all on gog, all I'm saying.

edit: grammer this time!

Thank you Eador! I had time to get both my kids bathed, in pajamas, teeth brushed, read each three stories, and put to bed without stressing over what I was missing! I think I even have time to make myself a snack!

Captain_Picard: Don't pirate from good indie devs, they deserve every cent for their hard work.
avatar
McDon: It's good to know my brainwash...that fellow GoGers think the same as me :P
One of us... One of us...

I just think that they should be rewarded for a good game. If they make a bad game it deserves to fail and is not worth your money, then I don't care if you pirate it or not.
How long you guys think it will take to get through Eador?

Another hour probably, I'm making dinner now.

Stoltverd: HOMM V???? BG2? Planescape? I have hopes!!!
Sadly i don't see Icewind dale 2, no temple of elemental evil nor nwn diamond :(
avatar
Knofbath: No Icewind Dale 2 or Temple of Elemental Evil, but Neverwinter Nights Diamond is on there.
You know if you select everything on the list in the cart you would probably get a similar discount as what's being offered in this promo. Course how many you need to get 80% I'm not sure.
I'm gonna try to grab a copy of each of the less expensive popular ones under $2-3 (Don't Starve, BG 1/2, NWN, Planetscape, etc.) and get gift codes. That way, after the dust settles, I can get them to people who may miss them. Sound like a good idea?

EDIT: That should read in addition to others like Don't Starve.

Sadly, I believe the last 124 copies of EADOR are going to be be there for a very, very long time. :-/
This Wizard has to die of old age sometime, he doesn't look that young.

Do you know if they ever patched this game to support the Intel graphics chips? I'll buy it if they did! :)

You mean sell them to your brother at full price? Yes.

Try waiting for 18+ hours for Don't Starve. I like went to work twice and had no luck scoring the game. Here is hoping 3rd time is a charm.

40 Minutes. it's currently 21:22 here, so by 22:00 EST. Adjust with your time zone.

LOL! No, I mean offer them as trade fodder or sell them back to the ones on here who were desperate but missed. I got all of the ones I REALLY wanted and would like to help others get theirs. :-)
