Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Captain_Picard: Then it went for free a few minutes later and was instantly taken.

mortalkombat: i know that jack keane will go on sale for free in a while....it will stall for hours man
I'd love a free copy...not sure why it's not getting the love (other than the high price for a GOG game)

albertoml: I couldn't get any free game :( but well, I could get Thief and Myst
That's a great consolation prize. I got no freebies, but Thief 1&2 for $2 each? I'm happy. Also, for anyone waiting for Thief, I caught both of them at the tail ends of freebies. Wait for a freebie, then Thief will probably show up in time for you to click and get it for $2.

Bovrillor: Have I missed the last chance for 'Don't Starve'?

Xabyer_B: Triad is the first game.
Good to know thanks :)

CorranHorn: After almost playing through Icewind Dale (at least I think I was close to completing it before the bloody game crashed all my save files) I´m very intrested to read the books that the game is based on. The game is really good even though it´s more like Diablo than BG.
avatar
Uzur9: Funny thats how I got my start into the Realms novels even though I had afew others along with some DragonLance (thanks to my uncle)
I really hope that it is on this round of sales! I heard Drizzt makes a cameo in IWD 1 or 2.

No offense, but that is not anywhere related to what I was talking about.

Ok... this is going so slow and I really need some sleep before going to work... So if "Don't starve" comes up in the next 8hours, I would be really happy if someone bought me a copy. I can buy you one of the 5.99 gog games for trade.

astraldemon: Well no1 said it's better than D2, but it was fun in some aspects... Original creator of D2 told how he never would do D# how it was done, so creator of D3 had some pretty hard words about that comment... Which ended with him apologizing in a long letter. You can google it
avatar
rtcvb32: Well the original D1/D2 teams are long gone and replaced by the same group that did WoW. Honestly if you look at it, it feels like WoW, just add Decard Cain and you got Diablo.

I remember watching early footage of D3, and I didn't like how it looked.
Sounds plausible. I liked the look of D3 but missed a lot of fun stufff that was in D1 and D2.

XEternalDreamX: I really hope that it is on this round of sales! I heard Drizzt makes a cameo in IWD 1 or 2.
Not in the IWD games, but he does in both the BG games.

Knofbath: A mediocre game for $12 or the same game for free. Most of the people hitting it for free were just twitch conditioned to click it because that's the only way to get the free promos.
Yeah, actually it is kind of o bummer, you click like mad, o joy a sucess, and then obummer, Jack Keane! Thankfully it did not happen to me, all my freebies I want to play.

mkess: But in the beginning of the "Lord of Rings" he had no idea in what direction the book was going. And after experiencing the Word War, his writing slowly changed to a darker mood. Seeing the book as whole, Tom Bombadill did not fit anymore.
This is the most useful and reasonable explanation for Tom Bombadil I´ve ever read!

And about Tolkiens experiences in the first world war... He stated that orks were directly influenced by germans. Tolkien said that when inventing orks he had pretty much german soldiers in mind, especially because of the german language which always sounded harsh and kind of staccato in his ears.

Yep, orks are pretty much the fault of us germans.

Stay awake. Keane of the Triad is almost done...

Arthandas: ROTT is selling pretty fast, it's just in bullet time...

Frostyfirefly: You are full of win sir.
Yes, quite indeed.
Sigh, I probably should just take a small break and be back when it's almost done. I guess I should go and paint the house.

Me too, I can't sleep now. (And I want sleep).
