Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

shadowbaneaxe: You can buy the first 3 Drizzt books in a bundle to see if you like it enough to get the rest.

Those should help u out with what books u need. ;)
Awesome! I always used google and found random sites with subpar list but this wiki is spot on.
avatar
Xabyer_B: Triad is the first game.
avatar
Stoltverd: I hope it's "succes" wont make gog stop putting "last chances" i am really hoping to complete my D&D collection and/or get homm V and/or outcast
I repeat again. This is the third and last round, (a complete round).
Took 30 minutes off and really thought we'd be on the next sale by now.....
avatar
fishbaits: Yeah, there were some huge parts from the books missing that ruined the films for me. Having said that I always prefer books to films & never watch tv ;)
Well, that & they were just too long for no real reason ;)

Used to drink with one of the Tolkien family regularly & she refused to watch it, just in case it ruined the memories of the books hehe

mowgli: I work with a guy, he is the Great Grand Nephew or something (Surname is Tolkien). I know he hates the Hobbit movie
He has good taste hehe
avatar
Bovrillor: Have I missed the last chance for 'Don't Starve'?
avatar
Ydrisselle: We don't know. It can come back for a third time.
Yes, there's still a chance, since it didn't show the "last chance" sign.
ROTT is selling pretty fast, it's just in bullet time...
avatar
Knofbath: Jack Keane 2 has been up twice so far, 50 copies then 100 at $11.99 a copy. Making it the second most expensive game in the sale, and nobody is interested at that price. So it stalled, both times. the second run ran about 5 hours for 100 copies...
avatar
Captain_Picard: Then it went for free a few minutes later and was instantly taken.
i know that jack keane will go on sale for free in a while....it will stall for hours man
avatar
Stoltverd: Wow.... finally got home from work and RotT is still there... sad story...
avatar
Ydrisselle: At least you didn't miss anything :)

rtcvb32: Yeah, like an MMO... *shakes his head* in D2 you could have 16 players, I think I never saw more than 5 at a time, but if you have many more then there's just too much to show on the screen at once.

Also like an MMO, the crappy drop system plus the auction house where you can pay real money to get in game items. Takes away the fun of things. And their 'want everyone to have the same experience', but popular mods would show what people really want to experience. PoE is much better than D3 from what I can see.
avatar
Ydrisselle: PoE's skill "tree" is confusing as hell. It's interesting for the first time, but really annoying after a short period... (at least for me)
I can understand the sentiment, but it really allows players to create unique builds with their characters... its so refreshing compared to most other action rpgs of its sort (including all Diablo games). It makes leveling exciting, if you spent the time trying to create a good build. =)
Every next loop brings us more copies. Are we ready for 200 Jacks? :)
avatar
astraldemon: Well no1 said it's better than D2, but it was fun in some aspects... Original creator of D2 told how he never would do D# how it was done, so creator of D3 had some pretty hard words about that comment... Which ended with him apologizing in a long letter. You can google it
Well the original D1/D2 teams are long gone and replaced by the same group that did WoW. Honestly if you look at it, it feels like WoW, just add Decard Cain and you got Diablo.

I remember watching early footage of D3, and I didn't like how it looked.
avatar
Knofbath: Rise of the Triad, then Omerta, then Jack Keane 2.

Edit: Got it.
CONGRATULATIONS ON POST 10,000

You have made GOG history.....

A mediocre game for $12 or the same game for free. Most of the people hitting it for free were just twitch conditioned to click it because that's the only way to get the free promos.
avatar
Uzur9: R.A. Salvatore I find is good. I prob have like 3 or 4 Trilogies I gotta pick up and read of his work.
avatar
CorranHorn: After almost playing through Icewind Dale (at least I think I was close to completing it before the bloody game crashed all my save files) I´m very intrested to read the books that the game is based on. The game is really good even though it´s more like Diablo than BG.
Funny thats how I got my start into the Realms novels even though I had afew others along with some DragonLance (thanks to my uncle)
It would be great if next game is Jack Keane and underneath it says "Really the Last Chance".

You are full of win sir.
