Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

nijuu: Morning people. So whats happened since BG2 last night?.
3rd loop. And this now...
At least we can say we've really given the forum software and server a good testing in the process.

mondo84: That means we could be facing 200 copies of Jack Keane if round three repeats everything again.

Fictionvision: I literally just did this when I read that line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcinzmfZeCc
To quote the Joker...

"All it takes is one little push, hahahaHAHAHA!"

Knofbath: He's in Germany, so he's probably got a much lower ping to the GoG servers than the rest of us scrubs.

AngryAlien: I live in Germany too, I do have a decent connection and I could not score even once.
Same here!
I already own RotT it's a solid fun game but with some bugs, but I just want too see it go away now! The deal still like the game.
avatar
petitmal: Do you have a fast connection?
avatar
Aranos: Not especially, normal ADSL2 (16 Mbit, ~50ms ping to gog.com) with ... unusual ethernet at home^^ (modem -> router -> ethernet-av-bridge -> router -> wlan)
Well, here I am with my 150Mb/s , 32-33ms ping, hardwired to the internet and I did not manage to get a free game once.
Oh well...
Rise of The Threads.

I got one freebie. You have to speak with your provider. They have to disable one protocol, so that you get faster pings. I play onlinegames, and I insisted I wanted to use fastconnect.
Fall, TRIAD...FALL!!!!
I'm giving up.

BG 2 is far, far a-way

With its mages up in the clouds

BG 2 is far, far a-way

With its fighters down in the crowds

Flying around the world

But the cry of RotT is loud

Still as loud
Guys, I wonder...

RoTT has been one of the more Keanish games in the sale. I wonder if... they are going to have the least sold games first on the last round. Which would mean there might, just might be a safe, solid hour or two or even three to sleep here.

But it is such a gamble. There are only one or two games I still want that I have missed so far.

Knofbath: He's pinging at 50ms, I've got to hop the ocean before I'm even in the neighborhood (130ms).
My ping is belo 20 to gog.com and got no freebie... my finger is rotten...
So, who won the 1000th comment? i overslept.

rtcvb32: Haha, that's funny. I say that because I was a kid when D2 came out and I didn't have much money or internet, and as I'm sure with the rest of the US we aren't guaranteed an internet connection over 56Kbit (dial-up) so probably the game would have failed as a product.

npalsensei: The only good thing about battlenet back then was that you could trade some drops for the ones you wanted with others instead of running double and triple the number of runs to get the same item, if at all. Other than that, it was a major pain. I can't understand why would anyone want their perfectly single player game be locked in an online prison.
In all honesty, Vanilla D2 was kinda boring after the first 30 hours. I loved a mod called Zy-El, which brought so much to the table and made the game HARD until you got the proper posters, enchantments, etc. Then it was fun again. I think Blizzard doesn't like mod's because there's talent out there that does better for free than they do.

As for D3, because it's online only I will never buy it. Screw it coming out on the PS3/PS4, they already have said their games are part of a 'rich kid club' as far as I'm concerned and I don't play those.
Rise of the Jack keane is upon us :D
