Before getting new computer (now running Windows 10), I used to run Windows 7 (64 bit) and Space Rangers 2: Reboot - Rise of the Dominators was one of my favorite games. I spent MANY enjoyable hours. I miss it greatly.

From the few reviews of Space Rangers HD I've read, I feart they have screwed the game up royally.

I'd love to hear opinions from real fans of the Space Rangers 2: Reboot - Rise of the Dominators game who have now spent serious time with the Space Rangers HD game.

Not quite sure why you think this, but nonethess:
gameplay significantly different than before?;
frequent crashes?;
game now 'unbalanced' in terms of rewards and difficulty at various levels?

I'd just like to hear how much, and in what respects the HD version differs from Space Rangers 2: Reboot - Rise of the Dominators. Is it a whole different game? What do fans of the earlier version think of the HD version?

Space Rangers series is so oddball with multiple alt-game modes, internet reviews have a hard time with Space Rangers HD.
The RTS section in Space Rangers HD was "enhanced" to buff the AI and also removed any and all cheats from Space Rangers 2/Space rangers 2 Reboot; skip all RTS missions unless you enjoy frustration.
Slightly more text adventures, logic puzzles and arcade games were added in HD version.

Here's some input regarding 'unbalanced' stuff in HD version.

The pirate faction in Space Rangers HD is very unbalanced. These pirates can literally dominate the galaxy system by system in very short period of time, leaving the player with quite a few options - to join their ranks or to die trying to beat them.

Aside from that, Space Rangers HD is much the same game as Space Rangers 2, but with more additional content and "improvements" (see "Other improvements..." part at the store page for more information).

I've got 330+ hours in Space Rangers HD and I honestly can't remember a single instance of it crashing, though it's been a while since I've played.
