Adapted from the Japanese animation series produced by TMS Entertainment (based on illustrations and comic books created by Buichi Terasawa), the video game provides players the opportunity to step into Cobra’s shoes as the famous galactic bounty hunter, in a futuristic and colourful universe on consoles and PC.

Created in 1978, the cult manga Cobra has fascinated many generations of fans with its complex plot known for its many twists and turns. With his legendary Psycho Gun attached to his left arm, and his iconic partnership with Lady, the notorious space pirate Cobra has captivated audiences for decades.

According to Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids: “We are extremely excited to work on this adaptation of Space Adventure Cobra, a legendary anime which has inspired a whole generation of fans. We are committed to respecting the universe and characters created by Buichi Terasawa, while providing an immersive gameplay experience, faithful to the spirit of the anime series. The Cobra game promises to be a great adventure for fans and gamers looking for a rich and compelling universe.”

“We were very impressed with the passion and professionalism of the Microids team, and we are confident that Cobra fans will be thrilled with the new video game. We are looking forward to the final product, which promises to delight the fans”, Tadashi Takezaki, CEO of TMS Entertainment.

The name of the game and other details will be revealed soon."
I hope the game is true to the original series and not infected with woke. I mean Cobra is pretty much a womanizer so it's hard to make him into a straight laced protagonist.
My only question is... does this mean we can get that Yello soundrack? - EVER?!??!

"Woke"
There's such a vast interpretation of this name across different groups coupled with it being leveraged for agendas it really needs rectification for
society's benefit.

Oh please you know what I meant.
Don't need to dance around it
Well, key words/phrasings like "modern reimagining" or "reinterpretation for modern audiences/sensibilities" are notably absent and it's not an American developer in charge of the project, so I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic, for now at least.
It's still unclear at first glance what someone might consider woke based on the limited details presented.
Example:
My paternal grandfather went to his grave refusing to ever eat at the same table as a person of color. He also expected them to step to the side and utter "by your leave" pleasantries when he passed by on a sidewalk.
He also didn't think women should ever hold officer titles in the military.
You can image how he felt about Uhura from Star Trek - he called it worse than woke. I found this very confusing as a child because she was one of my favorite characters and I had a crush on her. It was so creepy to me that he couldn't see that obvious beauty.
Using language in this way always leads to the darkside.
First thought is "I heard of that, it's one of those old animes right? Should look up who Microids are. Oh, they're a French outfit, wonder what they've made."

"They made Syberia... and published the XIII remake and a whole heap of licensed titles."

I'm sure it'll be fine if it's a point-n-click adventure.

I see the sleepybois are out and about.

You're comparing woke to racism and misoginy. That's pretty much comparing apple and orange.
I don't think mutilating children genital is a race or misogny
I don't think current gender issues is also a race or misoginy
Hell, I also celebrated that Uhura x Kirk kiss as a triumph. Because intermingling between races is already a common thing since the beginning of human existence
But woke is not that
Also woke have no end game. As long they can play the victim card, they will use it forever.
