Aside from Zoom Platform and itch.io there are not many, if at all that offer DRM-free. Humble has gone Steam Key route as almost all other 3rd party stores.

If GOG, Steam, and Epic are out of the question, then you are pretty much left with nothing.

There are some stores which are designed for smaller audiences, like Spanish language games, or certain genres, but nothing that would compare to those three, now that DotEmu and some others have closed.

I guess Humble store would be your best alternative store.
If you are into adventure games, there's a small selection of games at Fireflower.
Itch.io has some gems among all those unplayable amateur games.

Does Steam bow to political pressure? They aren't publicly traded so I'm assuming they don't have the same obligations as CDPR but that doesn't mean they won't make the same decisions. Steam annoys me, but if they don't cave to political powers I'm willing to switch back and just accept DRM. DRM is the lesser of two evils between supporting a genocidal government world power.

From what I have read they have removed games that have been objectionable in China and they are making changes to the Steam client to conform to CCP laws.

The problem with Steam, not that I use it, is that their massaging/decisions on censorship depended so much on that individual handling a game's case that what was okay one day would not be okay the next (mostly to do with visual novels and games of that nature). Similar problem with them bending to outside pressure groups.

Well that's depressing. Might just be time to move on from mainstream gaming if I have to sell my soul and just stick to Itch.io and such.

The problem is, there is no such thing as a good PC games store that exists in 2020. There is no good alternative, only crap ones.

None. Origin, Epic, Steam are all DRM laced.

As much as some folks don't like the direction GoG is heading, it's still the preferred store. That or you get out of PC Gaming altogether and go console (Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo).

THERE IS NO REALLY ALTERNATIVE!

Physical Gaming is already dead on PC! because nowadays every Physical Disc on PC have DRM which mean required to use Clients (like f*cking Steam is one of example). One of biggest problem nowadays we have no choice because every publisher (also indies publisher) force to use Steam or other Clients (Creating account) for those who already bought on Disc WTF?!?! Not everyone want to use f*cking Steam or other Digital Storefronts! If Physical Gaming doesn't required to use Steam or other Clients like back in day Pre-2010's times where you just put on disc and play it that would have been solved a problem so people don't have to use any Digital Storefronts just like back in day.
Physical Disc on Console is going to dying off at soon since beginning of PS4/XB1 era they started ripped Disc onto HDD/SDD where they giving half-sized on Disc and download rest via Internet through out Installation process.
Technically you don't own the game even you bought on Disc, if they require internet connection or creating account

I'm gladfully that Physical media is remain same as before at least you can watch the movies/TV series on Disc without Internet also no account, but Physical Gaming is totally f*cked! It's not same as used to be where you can play the game offline without any account.

Itch.io gave a lot freedom for developer and user but they have bunch of amateurs games and quality is not so good

There's my advise for you:
1st of all don't go back to steam or switch to console (both Valve & Sony already bend china kneel like every other major company did)

Stick to Itch.io or switch to retro gaming (console emulation there's 1000+ available games)

Use whatever store offers you the best deal. Know what your needs are and see who gives you the best bang for your buck. If you cannot live without DRM free games, you might be out of luck in the coming age. Maybe focus on Retro gaming, then? Or find a new hobby. Alternatively, you'd have to campaign for an industry wide change in the production and distribution of games. But seeing how it's impossible to convince some people of things that are ultimately in their interests as consumers, it doesn't seem worth trying.
