I'd ask at the game's forum, but it looks fairly deserted and I just need a quick answer.

Is it possible to do something to reach an unwinnable situation? Or am I free to experiment all I want without frear of having to restart from the very beginning? I'm fairly new to point and clicks.

That is the one completely ridiculous thing about the Simon the Sorceror games: When they made the fully voiced CD versions, they decided to completely remove all text from the game. Not "be able to switch it off", no, removed it. As a result, you can now choose only one or the other, because nobody has yet managed to merge the two versions.

Whoever thought that was a brilliant idea ought to have something slightly unpleasant happen to them, such as an onion falling on their head.

ScummVM can't do it?

I recall it being mentioned elsewhere and elsewhen that it could join voice and text on some game, but can't remember what game that was.

Which is a shame, because there is a lot of humour to be missed if you dona't completely understand what the people are saying.
For example, the wizards playing Mahjong are pretty funny, but I only understood it after reading the text.

I found the files with the text in the DOS game folder, so I'm using them for those cases of really indiscernible voices. I just hope I won't stumble across major spoilers while doing it.

I definitely played this with both voices & subtitles. Can't remember the hows & buts though, only that I had to fiddle. Probably with ScummVM.

This mid-90's trend of "let's do full voiceovers without any kind of subtitles whatsoever because fuck you" should have been outlawed at Nuremberg. Or Harare. Moscow. Anywhere where really unpleasant things happened to transgressors. Actually the most apt name ever for a sorcerer, since a sorcerer's got to incant. Or that's what he says anyway.

Sadly I gave up and had to consult a walkthrough on some places.
Some of the stuff you had to do was really weird. You might just as well have been trying stuff randomly. And I thought Teenagent was difficult in this regard.

I will never understand that approach to classic PC games. "Let's do a proper remake of that classic PC game, only let's release it for mobile only!" The mobile version even uses ScummVM FFS!
