I can´t run layers of fear, because my sophos antivirus does't allow the vulnerability CallerCheck from Layers Of Fear.exe

What do I do?... since I am not the owner of the computer :) ... it is my company... I have limited access to the sophos setup...

Assuming Microsoft and Sophos are using the same terminology, callercheck isn't a virus/worm/trojan.

It is a security vulnerability that other malicious software can take advantage of. I can't speak for Layers of Fear, but I'd expect that much of GOG's back catalogue is subject to potential security vulnerabilities, because few companies take the trouble to patch 20 year old games.

I'm not sure there is much that can be done.

1. You don't have administrative privileges to whitelist it.
2. Anti virus companies do their best to clamp down on workarounds to bypass their blocking, on the grounds that viruses would always take advantage of it.

Like the parent poster said, if your company has gone to the trouble of locking down your PC to prevent misuse, they may not be too happy with arbitrary games.

This game released in 2016... If your company updates SOPHOS, you may be alright according to some of the research a quick Google search is showing me. But they likely won't update/pay for an update for you to play a game, unless your job is playing games.

Sounds like you need to stop installing games on on your works computers.

In many companies, doing this is grounds for termination. You should be lucky you're still employed.

In other companies, including the one I work at, we’re suspicious of people *not* having games on their computers ;)
Breaks are usually spent by my colleagues playing multiplayer games, using of course their work computers.

Too bad I’m not really into multiplayer, especially not competititve games like they seem to favour…

I couldn't care less about him playing games at work when the caller check alert is more important.

Simple, go to your boss and complain about it. Ask him to give you full access to all security systems. And don´t forget to ask him for a raise and maybe a few more games to play.

Considering it's easily fixed as a computer admin, it's a moot point.

Why don't you ask your boss, I'm sure he will allow you to do that, PMSL.

They are all bots at an AI research firm, of course.....it's a lot cheaper as you don't have to pay them, naturally. ;) What I want to know is if these are actual usable bathrooms......if they are I would query why make them so "open" and unsanitary(game controllers being handled by multiple people who are using the toilet and not washing heir hands, of course)?

If I were a needed and valued employee i'd seriously consider at least asking for a raise or to be able to play offline games during breaks as an incentive/bonus....fwiw.
