cutterjohn: ... and on a more serious note, we have a sharp shinned hawk in the neighborhood that takes care of the neighborhood rats for free... well the hawk gets dinner, and we get less rats... win-win
I've seen him with a rat too, just missed the capture...
My cousin works as an electrician in construction; specifically condos. He told me that the city occasionally releases a bird of prey (can't remember if it was a hawk or a falcon) to take care of pests. I've seen a few around, but more towards downtown Toronto.
I'm not sure they would come this low. I was putting out garbage a minute ago and the rat was hiding under the stairs. It's hard to see, but I heard him scurry out beneath the stairs and I saw him for a moment as he went under the fence. I would've thought I was seeing things if I didn't catch him with his pants down the other day.
"So no one made this reference? GOOD :D
Now anyways I know just the guy to deal with your "problem" '
I'm glad you got the reference! I'm usually bad with names when it comes to forum titles and I thought the quote was fitting.
