I'm very much looking forward to SOMA since I really liked Frictional's Penumbra series, and this setting is very intriguing.

Youtube LPs or it didn't happen :P

Oh right a company that does reviews and gets paid for it... which is better than individual reviews, for some reason.
I guess I'm repeating what you just said, in a broader sense lol!
However LP = "Let's Play" video.
You watch a bit the actual game, then you check the reviews.

Ciris: Hey guys!

We're watching SOMA closely as it nears tomorrow's release - and I just wanted to pop in and let you know how great of a game it's looking to be.

One of our own number has played it, and he loved it - he calls it a "mature, hard sci-fi horror" and almost jumped off his seat when he saw the various ratings and scores. :D

Metacritic: 87/100 (link)
Destructoid: 9/10 (link)
IGN: 8.1/10 (link)
Eurogamer: Recommended (link)
Gamespot: 9/10 (link)

Tell us if you're excited for this one and what appeals most to you!
I wouldn't trust any of those fuckers as far as I can throw them.

I trust you guys though, hell you gave us System Shock 2 so how could I not?
I think this game looks very interesting and promising. I don't pay attention to reviews from sites like that (I might read some here or there on varying sites to try and get information about a game, but usually the KS/webpage of the game gives me enough.) I haven't seen enough of SOMA to convince me it will be "one of the best games", but of course I also try to listen to word of mouth from other players and it is sounding like it will be good. I'd most likely pre-order it if I could afford to spend that much on a single game these days.

Thanks for bringing it to GOG, I will be keeping my eye on it!

Seems like System Shock 1 is coming out on Tuesday as well? Or just a typo?
"Heading to GOG to grab System Shock 1? Don't miss SOMA Game, a very unsettling horror title and one of the most anticipated games of the month, on its day one release - it's one of our September favorites, too!"

I know what LP means. That's exactly what I mean by 'individual' reviews. They play the game, and review it in one go.
27 USD on GOG = 27 * 14700 = 396.900

On Steam 179.900.

Easy to say which one has my money. -.-
According to my sources the System Shock news wasn't supposed to drop until midnight, although I'm not sure which US time zone.

amrit9037: Are those reviews trust worthy?
Wait for GOG/Steam community reviews if you don't like those reviews. :D

SirPrimalform: Well, from what I've seen it does have a healthy dose of Cronenbergian body horror, so I think that's probably what they were aiming for.
Not the game, the topic.
