I'm all for it. And for more old shooters in general.

dudalb: Both 1 and 2. Fun games.
Oh yes, I remember having alot of fun playing SoF 1 Gold with my uncle who owned a copy. Raven Software hype.

How on earth did they get around those licensing issues?

The question is... will we now finally get other Raven games also. I really want Heretic 2 or any other classic Raven game.

That would be up to Bethesda, I think they own the rights to Heretic/Hexen.
Nope...
Are you people ravenous for more old games? ;-)
They are just released i love it!

I played SoF2 for 3 years multi.

Heretic 2 and Hexen 2 were published by Activision.

Heretic 1 was publihed by id and Gt interactive adn Hexen by id soft.

But i only want Heretic 2 so bad. I loved co-op in that game.

Yeah, I know. That was way back when those games were sold in retail. Digital distribution is an entirely different beast. Apparently id Software owns the rights to both the Heretic and the Hexen series. Heretic 1, Hexen and Hexen 2 are published on Steam by id Software, which now belongs to Bethesda, meaning that Bethesda would be the ones to have to publish them on gog as well.

Heretic 2 seems to be more complicated. It isn't available on Steam either, so maybe Activision (or some other company) still owns some of that game and they can't reach an publishing agreement with Bethesda for digital distribution.

There's a $10 bundle perfect for GOG on Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/sub/439/ - and iirc Granger or somebody explained the potential situation as to why that bundle isn't here, but I don't remember what he said. I keep thinking maybe GOG wants to figure out the Heretic 2 situation before bringing the others here, and if it is between Activision and Bethesda perhaps GOG can resurrect Wolf 2009 also if they work it out. edit: and Hexen 2 portal of praevus too, perhaps

ANd it's not like Heretic 2 was such a great tame to begin with.....
It has a following, but every game has a following.
But would love to see Heretic,Hexen, and Hexen 2 on GOG,
BTW, there appeare to be a licencins issue with the Hexen 2 ecpansion disc. It's not on steam, either.
