I can't wait, CIV5 is one of my most played games on Steam. It would have many more hours logged if I wasn't using SSE to play with out Valve's interference.

Kakarot96: I am still playing III and IV, and we already have them here, so i really encourage those of you who have not played them to do it. Awesome games still with that "old feeling".
And there are a lot of mods for them. Some very extensive and quite refined.

Only one I have actually played for Civ IV: Fall from Heaven 2

Best get this one too: https://forums.civfanatics.com/forums/more-naval-ai-modmod.476/
When Civilization V was announced, a lot of promises were made about its unprecedented modability and the release of modding tools, which as far as I know never happened.

Civilization IV is extremely more mod-friendly, and it shows in the mods that have been made. Fall From Heaven II is almost a game of its own. It adds a lot of value to your purchase -you are basically getting another game for free. And then there are the other hundreds of mods.

I didn't agree with the design decisions in Civ 5 or Civ 6. Civ 4 is the ultimate one for me. But nonetheless, Civ 5 was extremely popular and successful, so I would be really glad to see it released on GOG, DRM-free. Just for the people who enjoy it (even if it's not me) and the ones that could get interested in GOG.

More Naval AI ModMod is an addon for Fall from Heaven 2. It improves the AI and adds some (most are optional and can be turned off) features from other mods. Reason for me recommending it here is the improved AI.

I see, i never installed any addon to the main mod but that addon is nice, i was now reading what exactly does and already downloaded. Thanks again!
I'm waiting for Beyond Earth and VI.

Is Beyond Earth the modern Alpha Centauri they releases not that long ago? That would be great indeed :)

I doubt Aspry would bother until GOG bothers to get a LInux client going

i_hope_you_rot: What makes Civ 5 that so special ? We already have 3 and 4 in here .
Gotta catch 'em all!

On a more serious note: many design descissions made in Civ 5 seemed particularly foolish to me when I heard about them. I don't think I will like this game although I'm not sure how it matured after release. Civ 4 startet weak, too and only became awesome with its second expansion.

Aspyr already has games here, so I'm not sure why not.

adaliabooks: Civ 5 is the first game to drop multiple units per tile, so it does play quite differently to the previous iterations.
Allowing only one unit per tile is quite a restriction. Is that only for military units or for all units?

1 of each type I believe, so you can have 1 builder/settler and 1 military unit on the same tile (at least that's how it is in 6, it's been a while since I played 5 and I can't remember if they used the same method), but not 2 settlers on one tile.
I can't remember if flying units had the same restriction (or if they worked like 6 where you just attack from range in cities and airbases) or if you could stack them with a land unit...

Anyway, it's a pretty good game. I'll probably re-install it and come back to it (or rebuy it here if it's a complete edition at a reasonable price).

Kakarot96: Oh, and please bring also here the old ones! (including the first Civ and the first Call to Power)
I also would like to have the first Call to Power here on GOG.

Thanks! Owning all of the Civilization games up to Civ 4, both Call to Power games and Alpha Centauri I'm quite sure I'll also buy Civ 5 when it will be available DRM-free. :)

I've mentioned this countless of times, but I gave up on the Civ series a couple of years ago when I tried to play the first Civ game (the PC version, yes the 1991 original or whenever it was released), and had absolutely no idea what the heck I was supposed to do in the game, and why different things kept happening.
