While I have half a mind to give for artists like Chris Tomlin and your average rapper, I think the 1940s "Crooners" are the ones I've got it in for the most.
Not people like Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra. I mean the groups that tried to make Jazz white.

You know, shit like The Teen Agers, where they can't go 5 minutes without breaking into another awful and bland choir song that goes on for at least 3-5 minutes longer than it should. (Per every 3-5 minute song.)

I call them as such as I'm not really sure how else to categorize the white bread vapid choirs.
Country music and Jazz music. I've tried multiple times, I just can't.
Are we considering "Rap" to be 'music?'

I consider it to be noise pollution, not music.

But if we are considering it to be music, then it's the worst, by far.
Anything made with no real artistry, creativity or, for lack of a better word, "heart & soul" and for no purpose other than the commercial one.
Which I guess would be true for about 95% of so-called popular music.

Country I can understand, since it's mostly about heartbreak, death, and farms.

But Jazz spreads across such a wide swathe of subgenres and movements...I'll provide a few examples, but I don't expect you to be converted or to have that magic, "Aha" moment.

For once I have to agree with you.
Reggeaton and this new "music" wave humans are suffering nowadays, in which the voice of the "singer" is tinkered with and distorted. Bachata? I don´t know.

I don´t see any kind of artistic effort nor merit in them.

On the other hand. I don´t like Rap nor Hip Hop either, but I can find good lyrics in some songs.

Do you mean Autotune? Or did they invent some new awful way of mangling the human voice after Freddie Mercury already proved how it was done?

An interesting unchoice, Reggeaton. I suppose I could see the points that define a failure to someone; such as the simplicity of most of the themes and songs.

About you second line, I don´t know if I understand what you say. Are you telling me that you like Reggeaton?

No, I'm not saying I like it, I'm just trying to have a variety of perspectives on things. I live in what's considered just below New England, so appearances by the genre are rare at best.

Well, usually you take a ship and sail untill you find a place where the natives don't have a flag of their own yet.

pkk234: Ska
I think I'm fairly fond of Ska, so you might have to explain this.

Country (twangy and depressing...) and Death Metal (incoherent, crashy loud noise with throaty, heavy breathing, satanic type vocals...)
