We get all the low effort wank material anyone could ask for, but the sequel to one of the best indie games in existence isn't one of GOG's top priorities? I mean.. we got the mediocre looking AA LotR game! Yay! But Darkest Dungeon II isn't worth making Red Hook feel wanted enough to come back here?
That's just the way it goes, sometimes. I have no idea what the situation is for that game, though. It looks like the original might have sold well here. (112 in all-time best-sellers) Maybe it wasn't enough for the publisher. Can't hurt to ask the publisher privately and see if they answer. Maybe GOG's working on adding it now but there was a delay. Who knows?

I'm kind of surprised we get anything newish. One of the biggest surprises for me was when we got The Surge II about three months after it released. Thought I might have to wait a year or two for that one.

That's quite the hyperbole IMO.

Although even though the Darkest Dungeon games are not that great, I will agree it's sad how a lot of devs are leaving GOG, which has been pointed out by Alexim in a big thread he made about that specific issue, and he also pointed out how DD2 isn't coming to GOG, just like a lot of other games that should be coming are not going to be.

Sadly, this is the way for all games now...

... with what seems like a lesser degree of chance to release on GOG at all.

I'm surprised by the Gollum release here, but not going to start thinking that's a trend.

As for DD2...

... the EGS deal really messed with expectations. I'd forgotten the game was out there in the wild.

My hope is since EGS's year is up... Steam for a few months to get the masses with DRM... then GOG? Fingers crossed

How good a game is completely subjective. So hyperbole? Maybe. It's still one of the best games in its release year, regardless of budget. It's just another reason to reconsider buying games here. At one time, releases like this were no-brainers for GOG releases. It seems like GOG are alienating devs and publishers who should be their best friends.
So we know for sure it was GOG's decision? Did devs even stated interest in releasing here? Because you seem to make fact of it.

No, I make a fact that the game isn't here, and it is at some level GOG's fault because the first game is here and sold well. If GOG had not made the platform unpalatable for Red Hook, they would have no reason not to release here. The devs' lack of interest falls squarely on GOG if that's the case. Unless there's another reason you want to entertain, I'm all ears.

Legitimate ask: Was the first game released day one (or near to) here? Because if Red Hook didn't see really grand sales here in comparison with other platforms, then a quick release of the sequel on GOG may not be a priority either.

Not saying it's a good thing. It sucks! But sometimes GOG is a secondary concern.

Doubt its a no brainer. Every game is a crapshoot wherever its released.Has anyone asked the devs about a release here?

And customers.
Everybody knows GOG is for selling games after the other revenue streams taper off. /s...maybe?

Oh, well...I can just vote for DD2 on the wishlist just like Spelunky 2 and Rogue Legacy 2 for all the good that does.
I sort of thought that games get released on here a year or so after release on other platforms. Maybe because of the drm free nature of GOG some games wait a little before putting it on here?

Games like EverSpace 2 , Biomutant are two that were released right away on here and those are AAA. So theres still hope maybe.

I never played Darkest Dungeon but I was a little curious about it.

Neither Everspace 2 nor Biomutant are AAA.

Steam release date is January 19th 2016. GOG forum change log lists an update on January 20th 2016. So yes.

No, the Epic Games store is the secondary concern, after Steam.

Huh! Well, maybe the sales weren't too spectacular anyway and Red Hook decided it's not worth it yet?

Or sometimes first. And sometimes only. Both of those gets certain groups angry though. So if anyone reads this, it's written in whisper.
