amok: why not? Pachinko is big in Japan, and I dont think this would ever be put out in any other country. I do not understand why a MGS themed machine would be a problem, and I guess there are already several from before also. Would you object the same to a MGS themed pinball machine?

I just dont see the problem here. Definitely not "retarded", but rather quite sensible considering the gaming market there.

Its capitalism. If people bought more games like Silent Hill Downpour they would still be in the console buisness.

But everone prefered playing games like Amnesia and Five Night's at Freddy's so Silent Hill is now irrelevent :P

konami left the console business because they chose to do so

and they are on their way to a long slow suicide march for some reason
cause a company that has a franchise that can haul in 179 million in one day normally wouldnt abandon a business model with these numbers
and keep in mind this was just 8 months ago

so yes the konami bashing is justified

but for some reason they decided to go this route

the goal of a business is to maximize profit not to kill off one branch of their income and alienate most of their customers not in japan

Downpour was a surprisingly good game and had some scary moments and athmosphere.

And your dislike of it is what killed Silent Hills imo (along with overbudgetting)

I haven't played Downpour due to there not being a PC version, I've seen a playthrough but I can't say I saw much to be excited about.
I despise Homecoming.
(In part due to the broken nature of it)
