NoNewTaleToTell: This thread is about Firewatch, not one of the Witcher games so stay on topic please :)

That's one for NoNewTaleToTell! XD
There have been so many poor attempts at trolling lately, who's even keeping score anymore?

Painted_Doll: How many of them actually played the game ? ( i bet most of them bought it because of those fancy youtube let's plays )
Also how many of them are older than 30 years ?
Players total: 223,744 ± 11,246 (94.37%)
Playtime total: 04:14 (average) 03:59 (median)

Looks like most people play it 3 to 6.5 hours by looking at the play time bell graph.

RWarehall: While some may not like it when I post SteamSpy stats after GoG rejects a game showing how "niche" it really is...

Firewatch
Release date: Feb 9, 2016 Price: $19.99
Score rank: 57% Userscore: 83% Metascore: 81%
Owners: 237,088 ± 11,577

That's a lot of owners for a game which hasn't been more than 10% off.
This game would have a decent chance to make the GoG catalog with a tenth those owners.

If that many people are willing to shell out at least $18 for the game, this game must have a real appeal.
I believe the reason ppl bought this non-game is because of the corrupt cuck media that shilled it when it was released. It was on the cover of the usual suspects, kotaku, pcgamer, rockpaperdouchebags, you name it.

I didn't think that was trolling. I laughed my ass off. :P
I'm not interested in this title, but it is always nice to see more GOG releases. Also, the Steam version appears to have a Linux version as well, whereas GOG has not yet added one.
Another one I'm glad I held off on buying.

Had a feeling it would be coming here, even though the developers never bothered responding to my email asking about a drm free version...

Definitely will be getting it when it comes here.

Also, I do not understand why anyone would watch a let's play video of a game they are considering buying. I mean strategy games, some parts of rpgs, sure...but a relatively short story based game? You watch a full play through of ANY adventure game (or walking simulator) and OF COURSE you have no reason to ever buy and play it...you just ruined it for yourself genius.

Go ahead, watch a let's play of Grim Fandango, or SOMA (both of which are awesome games). After watching a full let's play video of them there's ZERO reason to bother playing it yourself....so yeah any comments about the game being the same as a let's play is kinda dumb.
I could see starting a Let's Play to see what it's like before buying, but yeah, would be rather dumb to watch the whole thing for a story based game.
That seems like something I'd really like, and it had fallen off of my radar. Nice to know that I'll have the opportunity to pick it up here instead of Steam.
Turns out this game has NOTHING to do with Smokey the Bear so screw that!

I watched a couple minutes of gameplay and it looks lame. Gorgeous graphics, but it looks like they forgot the step where they include compelling game play.

Good thought, probably a more accurate estimate of real players. I neglected how Trading cards can boost play time, but I doubt many people are paying $20 just for the cards...

its one of the reasons developers use achievements, it is a metric on how far players get, what they do and where most drop off. A good indication on poor game-balance or problems within the game.
