New Screenshots revealed and so far the art style is the same just not as pixliated and more sharper:

remastered music, remastered sound effects... Man, I hope history has enough room for 2 Day of the Tentacles...
Are you crazy?! It's been over ten years since I had it removed and I still think about it constantly.

Oh wait....you said Tenticle. OOOPS.
Less pixellated certainly, not sure about sharper though, all the lines have quite a soft edge.

In fact, it looks to me like the main thing they've done is put the original art through an upscaling filter and then maybe neatened it up by hand.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it looks necessarily bad but it doesn't look like they've done much to it. Which is a good thing I suppose. I wish Monkey Island SE had been a bit closer to the way they've done this.

Better than I expected, but not better than the original. Definitely better than the Monkey Island remakes...

Some parts, the prison screenshot in particular, seem to have a little bit of a 'my first Flash animation' vibe.

I'm glad they didn't. I love both Monkey Island original and SE the way they are. Both fantastic versions of the same game.

You're welcome to SE Guybrush's bizarro toupee and the halfarsed backgrounds. :P
I'm not opposed to remakes in general, I'm just bitter because the SE could have been so much better...
Argh, I reaaaalllly don't like remasters. I hope they give us original artwork+sound+music and everything as an option. I DO NOT WANT a rebastard version. Same with Full Throttle. ARRRRRRRGGGGGH!!!!

I certainly won't. It's dissapointing to me, I'm expressing it. Full Throttle is one of my favorite games, I can't get my old CD to work, nor any of the LA adventure games, I suppose I could try harder, but, that is why I love GOG, because they (usually) make the OLD games I love playable with ease on modern machines. That is what I want with Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle (and Grim Fandango), to be able to play as close-as possible to the original game experience, because that is what I like/care about/have interest in RE-playing after all of these years, I don't give a fuck about a redone version, at all.

Well MISE would have looked bad no matter what.
As the original was a perfect masterpiece of pixelart, there's no way to make pixelart HD unless you upscale the pixels, which looks bad. DOTT's cartoony style on the other hand, allows simply redrawing the same thing in bigger resolutions. I suppose if they actually had redrawn all of MISE's graphics following the MI3 art style, it might have been acceptable, but not better than the original anyway.

The best use for MISE is to create the ultimate talkie version with the fan patch, which makes it worth buying anyway. With Grim Fandango Remastered, there was the mouse support (I think, haven't played...) which the original game lacked. As for DOTT Remastered, I don't know if there's any incentive for buying, if one already owns a version of the game. Updated resolutions and clearer audio are nice, but many players are probably OK with the original version. But I agree that DOTT Remastered looks like a genuine "remaster", where they simply upgrade the quality, and don't mess with the game itself (like Broken Sword... ugh...).
If they only were adding classic versions to those remastered ones ...[sigh]
Oh look, it's another money grab. Cant write their own game so tweak the graphics, snake a widescreen on it and that'll be £20 please.
Day of the Testicle Remastered looks alright.

maybe with the distinctive art style it is for the better to do it this way. i for one am going to get this ASAP.
