A re-master of DOTT probably means that the original won't see a re-release, and that is a crying shame. Other than that, I don't care.

tinyE: Are you crazy?! It's been over ten years since I had it removed and I still think about it constantly.

Oh wait....you said Tenticle. OOOPS.
Well played, Sir. Well played.

SirPrimalform: You're welcome to SE Guybrush's bizarro toupee and the halfarsed backgrounds. :P
I'm not opposed to remakes in general, I'm just bitter because the SE could have been so much better...
avatar
darthspudius: I don't get it but okay.
Neither do I, but I'm used to the hate sorrounding the SE already, and I don't let it bother me. I like it, I had fun with it, the end.
Even if I always prefer the originals, this looks like a proper remake :)

It seems a good remastering! Great news!
While I didn't like Monkey Island 1 SE, I think Le Chuck's revenge SE is a very good improvement, it's really smooth and they improved the sound so the iMUSE effect was even more beautiful than ever! I love that game, and I hope they do the same good job with DOTT.

Did any of you LOOKED at the screenshots?

drealmer7: Argh, I reaaaalllly don't like remasters. I hope they give us original artwork+sound+music and everything as an option. I DO NOT WANT a rebastard version. Same with Full Throttle. ARRRRRRRGGGGGH!!!!

Unfortunately like their other adventure games it probably won't work on the Galaxy Tab S.

I did, not a fan. Why do you ask?

Because so far its pretty much the old art style just cleaned up and on a higher resolution.

Besides think of the people that never played this game at all. Its a miracle its even getting a releases, Remaster or no.

drealmer7: I certainly won't. It's dissapointing to me, I'm expressing it. Full Throttle is one of my favorite games, I can't get my old CD to work, nor any of the LA adventure games, I suppose I could try harder, but, that is why I love GOG, because they (usually) make the OLD games I love playable with ease on modern machines. That is what I want with Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle (and Grim Fandango), to be able to play as close-as possible to the original game experience, because that is what I like/care about/have interest in RE-playing after all of these years, I don't give a fuck about a redone version, at all.
If you don't care about anything that could be added, then just run the original games in ScummVM.

Actually, MI2:SE broke the iMuse system. The music might have been remastered, but the transitions were screwed up.

And you obviously think that makes it better. Fair enough, but that's just your opinion.
Myself I like the original graphics, not something pretty much alike.

Then again, isn't that true of most old games that still manage to find their way in here.

Like every other Lucas Arts remastered adventure game before, there will be an option to switch to the original graphics during the game for Day of the Tentacle Remastered as well.

Personally I don't think pixel art is timeless and a lot of these games look really dated no matter how charming they were back then. Hand-drawn traditional artwork like this new remastered DOTT is what stands the test of time as can be observed by how well the Curse of Monkey Island still holds up to this day.

Yeah, seems a 3-years old Flash cartoon now. Do not want.

Oh, you thought "Day of the Testicles" too? Reminded me of that scene from "Dusk til Dawn" with Tom Savini sporting that six-shooter.

edit: corrected misspelling.

I'm sure with fresh graphics that would fix that; however, flash looking graphics aside, the game was very cerebral and fun to play.

The story was intriguing, the game play fun and it was one of my favorites.

Or what if it was always a Flash Looking game...think about it....

Either way we have not seen this Remaster in motion yet so if its Flash animation instead of the old school Looney Tunes style animation I be pissed too.
