Elmofongo: But than again Cata made Paladins awesome. They sure came a long way since thier Vanilla Days.

(Seal then cast spell)
That would be Wrath, when they started introducing sane mana regen mechanics for rets and prots, and many new abilities. Cataclysm introduced other mechanics, most importantly holy power, which only made the class clunkier and less fun to play. They didn't really touch the old balance issues (other than improving mana regen even more IIRC) they just added new spells and stuff for the sake of it.

And lol, I totally forgot about the old seals... that was insane. xD

And being a prot Paladin was terrible in Vanilla. I play a Paladin Tank now and I cannot fathom the idea of not being able to play a Paladin Tank only reduced to being a Warrior.

Than Wrath came and gave us Ardent Defender ;)

IIRC that was the thing that screwed up 1 button macros for clearing trash.
Honestly, I don't like this trailerm uch at all. It just seem rather boring. "Hey, look, it's dark everywhere and there's a guy in ridiculous armor and he fights some rock monsters and it's all super serious and morose as shit and... that's sort of all we've got. Awesome, right?"

My favourite cinematic trailer for WoW was the very first one. It just felt right- it promised this vast, beautiful and magical world to explore and have adventures in. I even liked the one for Mists of Pandaria way more than this one. At least it was funny, and again at the end it promised something new and fresh and interesting to see (not enoughto have me play it, but still). This one shows absolutely nothing that would make me feel like going back to WoW might be a good idea.

My favourite teaser from the Warcraft universe was the first one of Warcraft 3 from 1999:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWsYl_8Y3v4

It's not overloaded with shiny technical stuff, the orc doesn't look as physically impossible when it comes to the mass / agility ratio as they do today, the athmosphere is dark and grim... it's still the old and epic Blizzard. Not as brutal as the cinematics in Warcraft 2, but I'm fine with that and the graphical quality is very good if you consider, that it is 16 years old.

The Arthas cinematics in Warcraft 3 are the best cinematics in the game.

Yeah, they had style and something like this would make an epic movie.

Oh, I absolutely agree. I was talking only about WoW. I think the Warcraft "feel" and aesthetic in general took a turn for the worse with WoW, and it only kept going downhill. Everything kept getting more and more ridiculous, over the top and cartoonish. I guess it actually started before WoW, one might argue that this evolution was going on ever since Warcraft 2, but WoW is just were it snowballed, at least for me.

Dude Warcraft 2 gave us Giant Sea Turtles where the Orcs uses them as Submarines :P

If that's not ridiculous I do not know what is.

Man those cinematics remind me alot of the 1990s Beast Wars cartoon right down to the music:
