I'm getting around 15 MB/s on the galaxy client trying to dl elex. Your competitor typically has at least 3x the bandwidth, for comparison. I'll think twice before I buy any more new/big games from you guys.

Have you raised a ticket?
Its the only way GoG can identify where and why some users get far below par speed

you have to be kidding .. 15MB/sec too slow ? lots of ppl in germany far from cities still have 6mbit, which is about 0,6MB/sec

I was overly harsh in my initial assessment. I was tired and it didn't dawn on me that the file server probably wasn't in North America. They did reasonably well considering the number of hops it probably took to get to me.

I moved house, which allowed me to obtain a 500Mbps line. I am truly spoiled now, lol. I'll get slapped back to reality when I move back out to the hinterlands someday.

Today i'm getting exactly 1mb/s downloading the classic installers. Sometimes around 960-970...but most of the time, exactly 1mb/s and never a kb/s more.

I use to download at around 25mb/s so is there something special today going on? something updating at GOG or just a bad day? Because the exact speed means it's capped.

Could be an CDN issue.
I still get around 3 MB/s for now.

I still get around 3 MB/s for now.
I am trying again right now, and downloading at 16-17mb/s so yes, it probably was a CDN issue (i tried again 1 hour later after my post and was still "capped" at 1mb/s maximum)

My download from GOG become super slow now,
while other websites works normally.

I guess GOG have set download limit per user.

Just curious if this is the norm. I know the game is not out for the next 6 days (witcher3), however at the current download rate it will take just about that long for it to pre-download. It has been about 20 minutes already and I am sitting at 0.3%. I decided to try something different with GOG, but whoa.. is this really going to be the norm on installations? or is this just a beta thing? My connection is far better than most and my PC is pretty state of the art. Information and advice is welcome.

welcome to gog, where everything is broken, full of bugs and support doesn't give a shit. the best thing one can do, is to NOT BUY here. there are other game shops like steam without all the BS.

I have 500mb speeds and get tops of 22 to 25mb download speeds from this site. I know they limit users download speeds.

I would not call 25Mb speed "super slow", but that's me. ;)
I thought it was "some more serious problem", like 100kB/s restriction or similar.

Try using GOG Downloader if you haven't, since my download speed rose higher using the downloader. As for GOG Galaxy, I've never tried downloading any game with it.

I do not know about others but I always use "b" for bits and "B" for bytes.
