I'm a stomach sleeper. According to my 5 seconds internet research I just did, only 13% of the population are stomach sleepers. Yes, I know it's not healthy and can fuck up your spine, but it's the only relaxing sleeping position for me. Lying in a sideways position can occasionally be okay too, but lying on my back is a nightmare. When I was a child, I had to stay at the hospital for a few days, and my room mate was a guy who had broken both of his legs. Seeing him being forced to lie on his back day and night with no chance to switch position was creeping me out more than anything else during this hospital stay. True story.

Also, it takes me at least 30 minutes until I fall asleep, often up to one hour. And I usually wake up at least once during the night. Which brings me to my most important sleeping habit: I never, NEVER go to bed without something to drink within reach. Because when I wake up I'm always thirsty.

I'm curious about other people's sleeping habits. How long do you take to fall asleep? Do you have any rituals? A pillow between your legs or something like that? Do you wear pyjamas, or boxers, or do you sleep naked? How many hours of sleep per day do you need? Do you prefer your blanket thin or thick? Do you snore or thrash around in your sleep?
You frighten me terribly in how similar we are, apparently. Generally, I sleep best on my stomach but it kills my neck in the morning so I force myself to sleep on my back or else I just end up on my stomach anyway. Also, I need a drink nearby, mostly water bottles. I wake up commonly in the night, sometimes more than once a night but usually just once. I also usually go to sleep with a show or music going or else I just can't relax, as I put it the silence can be deafening. Also, takes me nearly 30 minutes to sleep sometimes.
I once got thrown off an airplane for sleeping.

Granted, I sleep in the nude, but I still think they were a bit harsh.

You're probably not really a stomach sleeper, you probably just go to sleep and wake up in that position. Most people will shift position multiple times during the night to stay comfortable.

I've tried changing from being a side sleeper to being a back sleeper and I can't fall asleep like that.
I don't sleep. Or rather I probably think I don't. I'm aware of my surroundings like I'm not sleeping and I rarely feel rested. It's a rare kind of sleeping disorder called sleep state misperception. And it sucks.
I dont have sleeping habits excepting how much I sleep (usualy 2 hours per day and 18-24 hours at the few days i have enough time to sleep).
I just sleep in whatever position (I even fell asleep while walking once for a few minutes, I woke up when I hit a bench because I kept walking for some reason) or clothes I'm in when I'm too tired to stay awake any longer.
And I barly change position when I'm sleeping usually I wake up in exactly the same position I fell asleep in.

Was the plane in flight at the time?

Yes, but it was Delta so we were only three feet off the ground.

Did you jink left and right, moving down one line at a time?
I'm dying to hear what HypersomniacLive has to say on the matress.. uhm, sorry - i mean, on the matter. :P
Well it usually takes me a good hour or more to fall asleep and I usually wake up at least once a night.
I've never felt comfortable lying on my stomach, I usually end up on my back.
I used to spend a lot of time rolling onto my sides, but I don't feel very comfortable doing that these days.
low rated
Side sleeper, cannot sleep on back because for some reason my breathing (chokes).10 minutes to 3 hours but I usually get up and play something after a couple of hours.Coffee seems to relax me and help me sleep, tea and I'm up all night pissing especially winter nights.Nude as I toss and turn all night and the pajamas used to strangle me from the twisting. And clever dicks keep your comments to yourself.
In teenage years I use to sleep in a crucifix position which was odd. But that doesn't happen anymore.

Now I am just a bathroom singer.
I can't fall asleep on my back otherwise i'll wake up in the following 15m (?) due to some nightmare where something hits me (or something like that), otherwise everything is pretty normal but i never feel rested... actually the only time that i felt a good night sleep was when i had to work for 24h and slept 2 hours and go back to work (we were on tight schedule and we need to finish our job that day), dunno how but those two hours of sleep felt amazing.
I once tried to climb my bedroom curtains in my sleep, and woke up just as I was tearing the entire frame out of the wall. My mom burst into the room thinking that I was under some kind of attack.
