Just remembered that Friday After Next was also a christmas movie.

The "Santa Claus chase" was hilarious!
Santa claus is comming to town
Santa claus is coming to town

ah, what a good song.
I was away for the weekend and it's really great to come back and see so many replies in this thread. Thank you to everybody who participated so far!

I saw "Angela's Christmas" on Netflix today. It's a short animation movie about a little girl who steals baby Jesus from church on Christmas Eve. Not because she's evil, but because she wants to keep him warm and safe for the night. It was very cute and heart-warming. Think I'm going to watch it again with my nieces on Christmas.

Here's another animated Christmas movie that I appreciate. The Snowman (1982):

Mister.Wolf: I always found it curious (and amusing) that Die Hard 1 & 2 acquired the "Christmas movie" status. At first I thought it was only in my country, perhaps due to accessible licensing costs for the state network, but as I met more friends from across Europe I realized that the same had happened there. They are a set of movies that every year air near the 24th, alongside with Home Alone 1 & 2. Poor McLane, and poor Wet Bandits ^^

Indeed, they are very much action movies from beginning to end, that just happen to take place during the Christmas season :)
the only christmas it had it was shown at christmas time :P
Is this a subject I can contribute to? I feel I may be the wrong kind of person to talk about Christmas shows, but I'll give it a try.

I'm not much into tradition and rituals, which means I don't watch the regulars on TV (or radio). In fact, after a few years I got tired of the same musics, same movies, same decorations and often I don't feel that much the season's spirit and only tag along for the sake of the family. It is nice to see the young ones filled with excitement, though. It was fun, one year, to leave some "tracks" of Santa Claus' visit that were poorly covered and seed doubt in their minds for one more season.

There is one movie that, oddly enough, I did enjoy more than I expected. It is also a movie that happens during Christmas, so I suppose it qualifies as a Christmas movie. It is "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage.
The story is quite simple and predictable enough, there were some good performances, the budget was modest and tells a personal story with small stakes (nobody saving Christmas, escaping nazis or anything of the sort). But I think it is impossible to watch this movie without falling in love with Téa Leoni's character.

And I suppose "Die Hard" and "The Nighmare Before Christmas" may also be considered as Christmas movies. They are also fine. Sadly I have nothing on the radio.

What do I dislike? I guess that the limited set of popular Christmas musics. There is a vast repertoire to choose from but only half of dozen keep popping up. And every year some artists try to tap into the royalties provided by this "tradition".
On the TV I wish there was more variety and more chances to escape the subject and the tropes. At least that was my wish when I saw TV.
This year I planned to watch some of the oldies, from the '30s and '40s, but I'll be scanning some recommendations in this list for alternatives.

I would feel honoured and appreciative if I could be included for participation in your package dropping endeavour.
Thank you for doing this, skimmie and PaterAlf! I'm in.

The heavy snow themed movies are not necessarily Christmas movies, but I view them as such, and my favourite is The Thing (1982) (and I didn't dislike the 2011 remake). But I have a few other "little favourites", like Fargo (1996), 30 Days of Night (2007), Whiteout (2009), Deadfall (2012), Wind River (2017). I enjoy them more when there's also snow outside, in my region. Probably for this year I'll try and look for some new snow movie. Hopefully, it will be snowing too.

And in the same vein for games, the first Max Payne always comes to mind in this period, if it's snowing outside. I loved those levels in the snow. But I haven't played that game in many years. Oh well, maybe GOG will surprise us with its release soon enough.
Another great (non) Christmas movie is Lethal Weapon.

But on a serious note: Bad Santa. Watch it and love it. Tremendously funny movie.
Thanks for giveaway and Christmas spirit!
I'm in. For christmas holidays I prefer to watch Batman Returns, it have awesome dark Xmas atmosphere of Gotham city. Also recommend to see short horror movie Treevenge about killer Xmas trees, this movie is free and available legally on Vimeo.

The first movie was funny, but I found the sequel boring.
Thx for the giveaway, I'm in.

As for movie... as stupid as it may sound I love Agatha Christie Poirot TV series and there is this one episode (there is also 1 movie but I don't like it that much) that it's happening during Christmas, somehow I love watching it around that time and the TV station usually air it around Christmas. Apart from that, there is no Christmas without Kevin... somehow...
Yeah, lots of tv shows do that. Especially if they are longer and planned to air any episode during Christmas time.
This might be the topic for next year's "traditional surprise", but... here's the best Christmas song of all times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY7t49Nu8Bk
