I don't have favorite Chrismas movie or TV show, but I liked Miracle on 34th Street (1947).

Here, in Croatia, bigger events are New Years Eve Homecoming and we made show just so no lifers like me can sit in front of tv and watch funny jokes by actors and listen cute Christmas songs on Old years Eve.

It's my favorite tv programme and it rocks.

arsalan12: Thanks for the giveaway. I'm in.

My Favorite movie: The Lord Of The Rings Film Trilogy.

My Favorite TV Show: Game Of Thrones.
Oh, during Christmas time, give or take, our tv houses often shows older or new good blockbusters. They are often better entertainment than actual Christmas movies.

Recently, they started showing really stupid/very cringey Christmas movies. You got head hurts how stupid some of those are, older movies were better.

Yeah you're right. I don't like Christmas movies except Home Alone, that one I have watched many times when I was a kid.
Cool tradition and I guess I am in for the giveaway since you asked about movies.

Probably the best and funniest christmas movie even is "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". There's nearly nothing that hits my kind of humor as much as the Griswold movies and this one absolutely is no exception. Funny, charming and not politically correct - just the way I like my christmas.

Another one I like really much is the Bill Murray adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" - Scrooged.

Scrooged is awesome! It was just Bill Murray being an asshole and likable at the same time. That dead golf guy was a bit creepy though. He's so powdery and dry you can almost smell him. Another movie added to my list.

Mugiwarah: Thanks you for your generosity i'm in.

Orkhepaj: like most of us + die hard :D
yes die hard too but isn't it secondary the christams mood? i don't remember it's been a while i watched it

BranjoHello: Never watched Rise of the Guardians (another thing I got to remedy I suppose), but after watching the trailer and checking Production Companies for both animated movies I can definitely say no connection exists.

paladin181: Seems like a missed opportunity
[OT] Director Kon Satoshi passed away at 46, so too many lost opportunities. All his films are worth watching. I recommend the short series Paranoia Agent too!

I'm not in for the Giveaway, but thanks for your generosity and for organizing this Christmas event every year! :)

Every Christmas, I try to watch the Charlie Brown specials and I have some movies that I watch randomly every two or three years:
-A Christmas Story.
-Christmas Vacation
-Home Alone 1 and 2
-Santa Claus (the one with Doodley Moore)
-A nightmare before Christmas (if I didn't watch it on Halloween)

BranjoHello: That reminded me of an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME animation that is perfect for Christmas (even though I watched it "off season").
People, do watch Klaus, you're gonna love it!
Thank you! We spent a family afternoon with the movie today and it was, indeed, awesome. I was quite skeptical at first, but it's truly amazing story - and the animation is incredible!

I don't put words in bold and all caps lightly, my friend. ;)
Glad you are your family enjoyed it. That's what Christmas is all about, sharing gifts...and I believe someone once said that there is no greater gift that the gift of knowledge. :D
Some very good recommendations are falling like snowflakes in this thread this holidays season and I hope more will come. :)

I have put it onto watch list.
but where can I watch it? I have access to my brother's Netflix and HBO Go.

It's on Netflix.
Anyway I watched some minutes and gave up.
I'm not movie person.
I am a movie person instead, I have very little patience for series. In total opposition with videogames, I drop almost them all - you name it, I most probably have watched an episode, disliked and never bothered again (even the universally acclaimed ones).
I'm for self contained stories. :P

I always found it curious (and amusing) that Die Hard 1 & 2 acquired the "Christmas movie" status. At first I thought it was only in my country, perhaps due to accessible licensing costs for the state network, but as I met more friends from across Europe I realized that the same had happened there. They are a set of movies that every year air near the 24th, alongside with Home Alone 1 & 2. Poor McLane, and poor Wet Bandits ^^

Indeed, they are very much action movies from beginning to end, that just happen to take place during the Christmas season :)

Those movies always have a certain christmasy feeling. Maybe it's the songs they were using or maybe they're just good films.
