(I'm a sucker for really bad films, but I haven't seen this one, yet)

TheDudeLebowski: My absolute favorite for Christmas though has to be A Garfield Christmas Special!

skimmie: I have no idea how it's possible that I'm a Garfield fan, yet I've never seen that Christmas Special. THank you!

Enebias: This might be the topic for next year's "traditional surprise", but... here's the best Christmas song of all times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY7t49Nu8Bk

skimmie: Santa shares your fondness of those movies :) Check your stocking.
Thank you for the nice gift and happy holidays everyone
When it comes to TV specials, there are some very good Christmas episodes of Bob's Burgers. Especially I like the one where Bob gets into the weird gingerbread-house-building-competition and the one where the kids are doing an ice skating revue to impress Santa and convince him that they've been nice the whole year.

Gede: There is one movie that, oddly enough, I did enjoy more than I expected. It is also a movie that happens during Christmas, so I suppose it qualifies as a Christmas movie. It is "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage.
The story is quite simple and predictable enough, there were some good performances, the budget was modest and tells a personal story with small stakes (nobody saving Christmas, escaping nazis or anything of the sort). But I think it is impossible to watch this movie without falling in love with Téa Leoni's character.
Thanks to you Santa has a new movie for his watchlist. In return he left a little gift in your stocking.

Thank you so much, Santa! I shall follow the instructions and be a good boy!

The DVD extras for the movie are some funny notes. For instance, the director really wanted Cage to play the part, but after doing a dark movie, like "8mm", the actor was not feeling much into it. So the team contacted Cage's friends and adapted the script to include his favourite diner, food, band of clothes, car and so on. And it seemed to have worked. Another funny fact: the Ferrari that Nicholas Cage drives in the movie, and the producers had rented for a few scenes, had been previously owned by Nicolas Cage. It was him who noticed. So the production team, unknowingly, really did walk the extra step in in adapting the movie to their star actor.
One staple of Christmas for me is watching the Disney TV-special "From All of Us to All of You" for the classic clips and main show repeats. Once I was also excited for the new reveal at the end, but that is no longer the draw.

Some good movies I often watch around Christmas are Die Hard (hey, it is at Christmas time, and just another excuse to watch it), Gremlins and Home Alone.

In for the giveaway.

I've always been a fan of the 1960s Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer claymation special. Even when I was living in Indonesia, I tried to make sure my son saw it. He didn't like the Bumble, though!

Also, Jingle All the Way is fun one. At first, it was a guilty pleasure. Then, as I became a parent, and as I saw kids get enthralled with the latest fads, I realized just how true-to-life it was.

I'm in, FWIW.

Never saw it but I've heard of it. At least the title. I always thought it was a horror movie. The title gives me creepy vibes.

It's still a wonderful movie and one of my all-time Christmas favourites. If you have any love for classic movies, you should definitely watch it.
