I love many of my Christmas presents, but the most special one I would say would be one I had a few years back. It wasn't anything big or unique, but a nice green Starbucks tumbler. Even since I got it, I have been using it for my daily/weekly coffee/tea consumption and it is decked out with some stickers I got over the years as well

I'm also in for the GA.

So like the steamer trunks of old, then(with the sticker thing)? Nice. :)

Looks like you're getting good use out of it....or at least much more use than that other Tumblr nowadays. ;)

matterbandit: Fondest memories of Dad: every Xmas, he'd bake our favorite 7-layer tall lasagna, which boasted eggplants, panchetta, Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, pearl-sized meatballs, all topped with Mom's homemade tomato sauce prepared two days in advance. And ever since we were kids (yes, kids!), only at Xmas did he allow us to drink a tiny one-ounce glass of alcohol, traditionally Punch Abruzzo Evangelista (35%) or Strega Cream (19%). LOL! Not sure if it was a cultural thing or just a Dad thing. ;) Drinks were served with dessert: ricciardoni and cornetto pastries. See attached photos. I have kept his bottles! :P
Santa is not sure what that pastry is, but he wants some of it. He left something in your stocking as a bribe ! :)

skimmie: that's a snowglobe, right? it's absolutely brilliant!
Snowglobe! Yes! That's the correct word, thanks... every Xmas, I've been calling it my bunny crystal ball and nobody has had the heart to correct me. ;)

Bribe accepted. LOL! Thank you, skimmie, for the heart-warming chat message and the generous giveaway. If I could teleport these pastries to you through the GOG Galaxy client, I truly would! ;) They might not be sugar-free nor fat-free, but they are definitely drm-free. :P If you're a lover of vanilla custard cream and roasted almonds, you'd appreciate these Italian pastries. ;)

Edit: I meant to thank you too, PaterAlf, for running this giveaway! How dare I forget that Santa has two split personalities! *I stuff my face with Italian pastries in total shame...*

*bribes skimmie and PaterAlf with cannolis so I can be gifted Doom 2 and Final Doom.* [/half-joking]

I was also gonna try bribes involving hookers and blackjack, but wasn't sure... [/completely joking]

Joking aside, I also thank skimmie and PaterAlf for running this giveaway. You're both very generous people.

Edit 12/23/2019: I purchased Doom 2 and Final Doom, so don't gift it to me now if you had been planning to.

Ladies and gentlemen! Sorry, it looks I won't be able to complete the full-fledged entry as I initially planned. So let me just send you the best wishes of happy, healthy and joyful Christmas spent in peace with your families. May God's grace be with you now and throughout the next year. Thanks for the unique community you create here and thanks, PeterAlf and skimmie, for the nice thread bringing (as always!) Christmas magic to the forum.

Merry Christmas everyone! (:
What is GA? Give Away?

I bought myself Pandemic Iberia. I hope to have people to cooperatively play it with me one day, it sounds really fun and looks good but not really wanting to play it by myself. That is my present story. Sorry, all I got. I am in it for the "GA" if that is acronym for Give Away.

Merry Christmas!

The very few of us at the office are counting the minutes to leave and head home. I am fortunate enough to have fantastic colleagues so spending this morning with them is not that bad a plan. :)
Merry Christmas to all!

After many years the weather is really cold around this time here. Been munching on fruitcake for a few days now.
Hope for a wonderful time for everyone.
:)
Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas to all GOGers and all the best in the New Year.

So, about those cloved oranges ...

The best gift my wife and I ever received at Christmastime was at a medieval recreationist Twelfth Night party when my history major friend gave me a cloved orange and explained the custom to me - on a dare. I must have looked like a deer caught in the headlights when I presented it to her, but for some reason she took it from me when she had been waving others off all night. It's the way we met, and to this day we are each other's best friend, our true best gift. (It's the reason I knew the background behind the cloven oranges, and why we still decorate with a few around the house over the Holidays to this day.)

Happy Holidays to all, may you enjoy the spirit of this special season! :)
