Interesting, them giving away so many games for free could be seen as a little desperate however.

At any case, if that attracts more costumers thats thats very good for them, more competition is always good. Their store would've been several times better if they were DRM-free though :<!

I wonder what will happen when Halo comes out. I heard that it won't be released on Epic (didn't research) so thats gonna be a huge one if thats the case. Imagine Halo being released on GOG at some point, now that would be amazing and a suprise.

Looks like arkham knight is the standard edition without any of the dlc, what a bummer. I can't tell if the epic game store is set up to sell dlc yet, but I'm sure it'll happen in the future at some point. Oh well, who can complain about six free batman games anyways.

All three of the arkham games (according to pc gaming wiki), can be played without the epic client by running the games directly from the .exe in the installation folder, so that's pretty sweet.

But all the collections just ignore it though, hasn't even been remastered for current consoles. I do understand it was made by a different developer but it's just odd they just ignore it for collections and such.

There are no offline installers on the epic game store. You can always backup/copy the games data on another drive meaning you don't really need an installer. Just make sure to run the game from the .exe from the installation folder. Just add a desktop shorcut from the .exe in the installation folder and don't launch the epic client.


Perhaps epic will add origins to their store at some point...who knows. Maybe I'm just a sucker for arkham: origins christmas and wintry theme. The game still looks and plays like a really good batman game imho.

Epic seems to struggle, time to bring out the tiny violin. It would be a cherry on the top if every company who gave their backers the middle-finger went down with them.

I just set up a Epic account, usually don´t care much about those free games but damn, they are offering some good stuff over and over again.
Of course, no off line installers... So can I setup a new windows install on another computer, download all the games, zip them and play in my main computer?

You should be able to. Just remember to create a desktop shortccut from the .exe in the installation folder and run it from that. Don't use the desktop shorcut that the game install puts on your desktop as that shortcut runs the epic launcher first. Copy the games (after install of course) to a storage drive and you should be golden.

Seconding what's already been said, but I don't think it is. Rocksteady even reference things that happen in it in Arkham Knight which is better than the ultimate fate of The Cartel.

That said, I don't think WB really cares a great deal about it overall when the Rocksteady titles (save for the blunderingly bad PC port of Arkham Knight initially) were the ones to really rake in the most money and when talked about, comprise the "trilogy" of Batman titles as far as the games are concerned. You could, in theory at least, play Asylum, City and Knight without ever touching Origins and Blackgate and be just fine in terms of having absorbed the run of the story (the fact that Rocksteady reference events/etc. from Origins is treated more as a "oh, so you paid close attention and remember this" moment than it is a "break out that wallet, consumer drone, you're gonna need the other game to even get why this is here" bit.

The only game that I don't have is Arkham Knight. And it's not sure it has all DLCs nor that it's DRM free. I've added it to my library but not sure if I ever install Epic's launcher and I'd rather buy it here.

You can muve the installation folder to any machine and start it from there. There are no registry entries.

That's one of the reasons why I like Origins the most. The story of the Arkham series is childish crap, with a giant joker, an ever-empty Gotham, and inappropriate tank battles in the annoying final part. I do not speak of the stupid end for spoiler reasons. ;-)
Origins was a great Batman story without doomsday fantasies and Gotham looked at least halfway like a real city.
Asylum was also atmospheric, apart from the Titans nonsense. The fantastic design of Gotham City inspired me in the second part, but I did not like the appearance of Penguin or the idea of ​​populating the city only with rogues.

In Origins, I only miss Catwoman and the Batmobile (Burton style, please, not the street tank). the snowy city and the gloomy christmas mood were great.
