grabbed them and added them to my growing library there, most of which have been free. Ill try playing batman again but last time i tried (full price release purchase) I couldnt wrap my head around the controls. still was a gorgeous game and I always regretted not giving it another go.

StingingVelvet: There's nothing wrong with this perspective. I even agree with it, and buy everything I can on GOG for that reason. However you have to understand that the vast majority of people WANT a client, because they think it's MORE convenient. Even on GOG the majority of people use Galaxy, from what I have read. You're never going to achieve a glorious client-free revolution because the vast majority don't want said revolution.
The one does not exclude the other. I use the client for achievements and as download manager, but the most important thing for me are the offline installers. If GOG no longer offers offline installers, I'm gone.tort1234

Wow, Epic sure is on a roll here giving out free triple A title games left and right. Even Gog and steam don't do that so much.

Exactly the same. Only reason i stomach Galaxy myself for the time being, is the fact that all of its features are completely optional and manually controlled by the users themselves.

That's fine, and you can deal with GOG's limited library as a result, but the point is stuff like Steam and EGS aren't going away. We just have to deal with them. Until streaming probably kills it all off eventually.

I installed the Epic store just to claim the free games. I then download Arkham Knight and copied the 3 main folders (Binaries, BmGame and Engine) into a new folder - then put it on an external hard drive and copied it to my other PC. To my surpise the game launched perfectly on my other system using the BatmanAK.exe so I think its safe to say that we have a DRM free version of the game. It might be an idea to make a copy of it now just in case Epic release an update preventing this later.

Arkham Origins is on sale on Steam now for anyone wanting to complete the collection. I liked Origins. If the Nolan movies represent the Batman world in it's most grounded real world incarnation and the Rocksteady games represent the fantasy la-la land version- then Origins is in the middle, maybe slightly more towards the movies in feel.
Batman is in his early era and feels weaker and less of an invincible super powerhouse. Likewise his enemies are more grounded and real world in feel. I liked it best of the series, though I haven't played Arkham Knight yet.

If you happen to have some older machine, you can use that. I have an older laptop, with no use for it. I installed a clean Windows 7 (so no personal/sensitive data on it) and I use that to download all the freebies I'm interested in. Then I archive them with Winrar and move them on external back-up drives.

For any out there who have yet to play the Arkham series you're in for a real treat! Some of my all time favorite games and a fantastic series.
Origins is skippable as it is the only major entry in the series not produced by Rocksteady. Some of the story elements contradict things in Asylum... that said the game is still great and Arkham Knight makes plenty of references to it with some returning characters. It takes place around 10 years before the main trilogy.

I've been on the fence about Arkham Knight since it's terrible launch. I'll give it a try before deciding whether to purchase it on Steam. GOG please get these games into the GOG store
