I just bought the SimCity 2000 Special Edition game here on GOG and I can't seem to get the cheats to work.

I looked around to find some and the ones that are supposed to work, like typing in 'imacheat' or ' buddamus' to get more money, they just don't seem to work at all. There's also another money cheat where you issue and repay 25% bonds a few times to get a million at the beginning, but that doesn't work, either.

Does anyone here who plays GOG's SC 2000 SE game know how to make any of the money cheats work?

Fairfox: Thoseee are Win95 cheats. Teh DOS version is, liek, wai limited in terms of teh cheats.

Try this:
"Start a new city and type "fund" to issue a bond at 25% interest. Select the "Yes" option to confirm. Repeat this step to issue a second bond. Then, enter the budget window and issue a real bond. The interest should now be displayed as ".%". Select the "Yes" option to confirm. Your city should now receive approximately $1 million per a year."

Edz: Sorry, you referenced this. It works for me? At least typing 'fund' does bring up a prompt, liek.

I'm glad you got the cheat codes working, with Fairfox's help. I wonder if this old cheat code from the Mac version of the game still works... it's to type "porntipsguzzardo" and you get $500,000. (I only ever played the Mac version, so I don't know if that code ever worked for the DOS/Windows versions.)

I used to wonder as a kid what "porntipsguzzardo" means, and even all these years later, I still don't know what in the heck it means! :)
